Review summary

We all loved this vacation and it was definitely because of the beautiful ship and the amazing staff and crew. We were spoiled, relaxed and fed like royalty and it was fun. We got to know our crew and will always hold them in our hearts. We are already planning to return for this exact cruise because we loved it so much and this was our 8th cruise since 2001.

Embarkation

We drove ourselves to the port. Very easy to get to from the highway. Once we arrived at the port we did sit in line for almost an hour. This hour included the time that we dropped off our luggage and got to park the car. It was very organized , it just took time. But if you're handling 2124 people , it's going to take some time. Once inside the building we moved pretty fast. Metal detectors and scan of our carry-one then quickly to the long winding lines to check in. The lines moved very fast though. Before we knew it we were walking up the walkway to get on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We are in the Normandie Dining room every night. There were 17 of us , 3 with severe allergy issues. The waitstaff was impeccable. They took care of us so well and made it look effortless. They knew each of us so well by the second dinner it was amazing. The food was phenomenal. During the day we ate all over the ship and we loved every bite! Sushi, burgers salads, ice cream, Asian food, Mexican food and pizza. It was all sooooo good!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We joined in a lot of activities. There is always something going on and there is something for everyone. We made lots of new friends and had fun singing and laughing with them at things like the Mardi Gras party.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We saw a few of the stage performances and they were very good. The 80s show was especially fun for us. We also went to every show for the comedians and they were awesome. The DJs were a lot of fun and really interacted well with the crowd.

Children's Programs

No one under 19 in our party.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Oh the crew will always be in our hearts. They were beyond words wonderful. Our room steward Domingo was so sweet and so attentive. He was always nearby and knew our names Day 1. Agapito and Rolando in the dining room and Pio and Louie with the bar staff. Just wonderful , fun people who literally made our vacation as magical as it was. These 5 men make Carnival what it strives so hard to be: a fun, beautiful, delicious experience you will remember forever. They completely spoiled us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Staff is constantly cleaning and whenever you are in port they are painting. It has a real renaissance theme and it is so luxurious feeling. We were surprised and loved it. Absolutely charming. The spa was modern and beautiful. Even the Liso deck which is so busy was so well maintained throughout the day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
As always the cabins are a generous size compared to other lines. It was our first balcony and I'm never going back. Loved having a balcony to sit out and watch the flying fish and the waves and the ship come in to each port. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had lots of room for all of our clothes. An 8 day cruise you have a lot of clothes! We had so much room. We even had a couch in our room. We were able to entertain several people one night after dinner and we had plenty of room.

Ship tip

I would recommend eating early because dinner can go for awhile and you'd hate to miss the evening shows. We ate at 6 and it gave us plenty of time to see the shows after. The nightlife on the ship is so much fun you'd hate to miss any of it.

The port was very nice. Extremely clean and well organized.

Grand Turk Island

We LOVED this port! We walked off the ship and spent the day at Margaritaville. It was spotless! So well taken care of and the staff was awesome. We spent a little time at their beach and then spent time at their pool and had a great time. Highly recommend this port!

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Beautiful! We had to tender in and the boats were bouncing around due to a lot of waves that day but the island is gorgeous! We loved he beach. Powdery sand, paved walkways, delicious BBQ lunch served by our wonderful Pride Staff. Lots to do for everyone. The shipwreck bar is so much fun! Cannot wait to go back there!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We've been here before and it was OK so this time we decided to just visit the shopping market that is at the port and we had fun. Lots of fun items and. Senior Frogs if you want to go to a party :) We bought a few fun times and returned to the ship.

Disembarkation

Super easy!!! Yes there were some long waits for the elevators to get down to the waiting areas but it wasn't really stressful just needed to remember 2124 of us were now getting off the ship. It was very organized. The Customs Officers were the nicest we have ever encountered. They were very nice and calm compared to other ports we've come in. The staff as we walked out of the building did yell at all of us to "keep moving" and it was yelling and we couldn't move with the crowd so that was a bit of a bummer but I'll hope that that was a one time thing.
