Review summary

I loved leaving from a port I could drive to. No hassle of flying enhances the value of the cruise. Freeport was a disappointment! Loved the 21 and over area and that Carnival enforced no kids however it needs to be bigger or you need to enforce your own rules about people saving chairs and loungers with towels and not occupying them for hours at a time. The rules said towels would be removed after 40 minutes and no one ever enforced that.

Very efficient and no hassle!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food in buffet area had a wide variety! Loved Guy's burgers! Food in dining room was hit or miss! The first two evenings are dinners arrived ice cold and we had to get dining room manager involved for hot food for the remainder of the trip. Bar drinks were excellent ! Did not skimp on booze and wide variety. Need better coffee particularly in dining room. It was "old tasting " and lukewarm.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Musicians were good, did not go to stage shows due to previous reviews.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward Rommel was good but asked me the first day what time to clean our room which was 11am and he did but never checked it again or did turn down service except for first night. Would have been a classy service to offer as do all other cruise lines! He made us wonderful towel animals everyday. Suresh made sure we had hot food after the first two disastrous dinners! Amie Loreto at the 2nd deck coffee bar was the best every night!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very nice for it's age and the staff did keep it very clean. Many general bathrooms were out of order and not fixed during the trip.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Loved the size of the cabin with the sitting area. Tons of storage for a stateroom. Balcony tight but ok. Was kept clean once a day, again no turndown service!

Ship tip

Don't choose your time dining, you will be better off with a dinner seating!

Disembarkation

Other than the 2hr and 45 minute wait until our group was called, it was very efficient!
