Review summary

Any vacation away where food and cleaning does not have to be handled is best for moms. Not enough clothes for the week, then use the laundry services ! Taste the samples so you can try the restaurants that you pay a little extra for. They are worth it . We have 9 people in our party.

Lines went smoothly and quick once inside. Service was excellent in getting the pics and ID cards ready. Bathroom was clean and air condition throughout the gangway. Took forever driving in and waiting to park though.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food has excellent choices. A lot of variety. Lemonade was excellent. Orange juice was funny tasting. Soda was canned so the carbonation was never flat like from a fountain so kudos for that ! We bought the bottled Carnival water and that was better than the regular metallic tasting free water. One night they had French, another was Italian, there was Chinese buffet for lunch, the Deli is open late as well as Pizza which was open 24 hrs. Soups are watery. French Onion and clam chowder. Strawberry purée was excellent !

Onboard Activities

Bingo is a con. All the money accumulated for the week is supposed to be given away. Instead, if no one hit the final Bingo game of 49 balls, a portion was given away. $600 split between 2 winners really? Cheapskates. Otherwise at the gambling casino, there were lots of events. Tons to play though the smoke was a turnoff. Fitness center was amazing. It was a highlight in the shower with the the rainfall and jets. Whirlpool, spin classes, and sauna room were spot on. The water slides were a hit with the kids and the kids club had activities that kept them busy. Also laundry can be done here which is great for large families !! $6.00 for washing and drying a load.

Entertainment

High marks for the shows and Saffi the cruise director. We were at the party for the dance in the Lido area and out comes giveaways like glow in the dark sticks and bracelets. Dance like Michael Jackson contest was held and overall a FuN time. Loved it !!! Comedians and the performances were a hit ! Bravo!!

Children's Programs

Always something crafty or an activity for them to do. The staff is excellent and full of ideas. They painted, they made seashell bracelets, and the kids really loved it.

Service and Staff

Primo service and comparing it to my other cruises, it's top notch. Agung, my cabin steward , folded towels for my daughter to enjoy like a monkey one day, a lobster the other night. He even prepped a night of a zoo with my kids stuffed animals..So nice ! Then the wait staff, Orlando, Francen, and Adi were always on top of their game. Remembering every little detail of what we like and having our beverage ready for us. Cannot beat impeccable service. Orlando did magic tricks too for our table with the kids. So memorable for us. We have been on 4 other cruises but really, the service was THE Best !

Ship Quality

Ok let's get real. Carnival at the 9th floor buffet area, the women's bathroom the hinges are broken on the sink cabinets, it is just dangling, they don't close..the door on one of the women's stall is crooked. It is a gapping hole for all to see. It looks pathetic in this condition. It needs to be upgraded. It is a heavily used bathroom and the first impression we get since we all eat for lunch after embarkation. The other areas were well lit and plenty of seating to enjoy in the common areas. The fooseball table in the Red Bull frog pub is crooked. The ball tilts to one side and it should be leveled. Best idea ever was the the Taste Bar where free tasting samples of the food were given out. Always maintained it's cleanliness though. There is rust showing on the staircase by the ping pong tables.

Cabin / Stateroom

Always kept clean, impeccable service. There is just 3 of us so the room was comfortable for us. The bedding and pillows were fluffy and cozy. There is a mini fridge to keep our personal drinks cold. Lots of closets and hangers. Bathroom was missing a door or partition for the shower. Just a fabric curtain for the shower.

Ship tip

This a family oriented cruise with impeccable services. There are lots of activities and an adults area only for privacy. Bring your own cans (no Pepsi products) and try the taste bar to get a sampling of the other restaurants that you pay extra for. It's that good! Bring a scuba mask for the beach.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

This was the best fun as you just dock off directly to port. Scuba swimming to see all the wildlife underneath. Saw so many fishes, eels, and artifacts underneath. A canon and an old anchor was there ! Kids loved it and barely got out of the water. Carfeful cause it is rocky. Buy scuba socks cause I stubbed my toes here. Green umbrellas are free to use. Margaritaville is also there with their own pool and bar area. Best way to catch up on email here.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Get off early or buy the pass for quicker to the fun. Private clamshells for $30.00 goes fast here. You tender to the port. They have great jerk chicken and beans with rice. No ribs served here. They had hamburgers and hot dogs. Chickens walking around looking for food and seagulls around hovering. No excursions for us. Not much fishes here at the Cay but it was clean and clear of rocks.
