Review summary

We have sailed on The Carnival Pride many times and have always enjoyed a great experience.  We coupled this 14 days cruise with a 7 day Tampa to Tampa roundtrip the week before so we actually had 21 wonderful days in the Caribbean.  The Carnival Pride is one of the companies Spirit class ships, which means a capacity of around 2100-2300 guest.  Because of the time of the year there were only a few kids on board, so it was relatively quiet.    We throughly loved the Panama Canal part of the cruise, and of course Aruba, St Maarten and Bonaire, Limon Costa Rica was a huge disappointment, it is a commercial port city and Carnival Excursions tried to enhance any description of their trips but you can't make silk purse out of pig skin to put it bluntly.  We did the "rain Forest Adventure"-very lackluster -only exotic thing we saw were the spiders and the caged snakes.

All in all the food this time on the Pride was excellent the entertainment and "daily fun activities"  were old and stale.  Perhaps we have been with Carnival too long but nothing new in this area for us.  Having said that we loved meeting new people, spent many relaxing days in the sunshine on the decks and in the adult Serenity area pool.  Be aware in spite of warnings that it will not be allowed, other cruisers start as early as 5:30 AM staking out spots in the prime areas hours before they will actually be occupied, some stake out as many as 4 at a time just so they can move to a new location as the sun change.

We love to cruise, Carnival offers good value for the $ and they have some great destinations, we love that the ships are well maintained and spotless, we get out of every cruise everything that we want, so at that basis I am very pleased.

huge improvement over last year on this same ship and over what we had on the Vista in the fall

Onboard Activities

boring , but maybe we have seen them too many times in the past.

Entertainment

not a big fan -saw the same shows as last year, and they seemed to be performed in a lack luster manner

As always, polite, cheerful and extremely helpful

Best ever location on the ship that we ever had, it was quiet and extremely convenient. This is a port, aft, balcony the laundry only a few steps away. Our Cabin steward was awesome and we have booked this same cabin for a cruise next year
