Review summary
Very disappointing cruise. We've cruised Carnival on 3 other occasions several years ago and were amazed at how much they've cut back on quality food (the dining room was terrible, as was the buffet),tiny protein portions, mushy veggies and very few salad offerings and ALWAYS IT CAME AND IT WAS BARELY WARM. Their best food offerings were pizza and the sandwich deli, both in the buffet dining hall. They've also cut out the midnight buffet
There are no more live bands for on-deck parties, or any live entertainers except for the Carnival dancers/singers and there is no live orchestra anymore for their stage performances. The choreography for the Carnival dancers was sub par as well -- a 10 year old could have done better. There is a comedy club and the performers there were really good but they don't perform every night.
We booked our first balcony room and loved it. However the sheets were pretty thread-bare and the mattress hard as a rock. It is the only cruise I been on where they didn't have foam egg-crate mattress pads to put on the bed to make it softer. The kleenex in the room was rough and barely big enough to cover your nose. The toilet paper was even rougher. They had shampoo and bath gel but no lotion. The hair dryer was a joke -- so glad I brought my own! We have done 11 cruises, 4 on Carnival and we will not cruise with them again. On the plus side, Richard, out stateroom attendant was wonderful. David & Sara Wall
