August 29,2013 cruise by snorkelgirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise and entertainment was awesome, the food was good and well presented! My 13 year old son had a great time meeting new friends in the circle C program, I barely saw him. I wish there was another port the ship stopped at but overall we had a good time, and the price was right. The only CON was the room was not as explained, but we made it work, there were 3 of us and the bed set up was terrible, we thought there would be an overhead bunk and instead there was a roll away that took up a lot of space, and the two single beds could not be separated. The room was always well cleaned and stocked with towels.

Somewhat disappointing by missmarmy

Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This is our 4th cruise. Overall, the cruise was good. The ship is much smaller than other Carnival Ships. There were many things that we were happy with --the cabin stewards had cleaned our rooms each time we left the cabin, beds were comfortable, the food was good but not spectacular, the crew was friendly and helpful. But there are a few things we were unhappy with.-- the pillows are uncomfortable, the set up of the ship is not the best , i.e., the library is right across from the piano bar (too loud), the pool is small, there is no adult only pool, the shows were not family friendly, the photographs were blurry and if you are not prepared, they can be quite expensive. Dress code for the dining room , for casual dining, is too strict. Will not travel on this ship again although our other Carnival cruises were good.

The ship was beautiful. The staff is extremely kind and took care of our every need. The food was good with plenty of items to choose from. You can dine formal or informal, in the dining room or in the cafeteria. The room service was good also. The rooms were comfortable. The entertainment was wonderful! We had a great time!!

It was our first experience on cruise. We really liked the cruise and enjoyed it. My kids spent whole time at the camp carnival for kids. Carnival has a great staff for kids. Good job on this matter. Food is very good and the cleanliness is everywhere. Seems to me that crew members have been trained on customer focus. They all are for carnival's visitors. I would like to see for next time free soda as well....

Cozumel, Mexico by Becca29

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

I didn't care to much for the buffet food. The dinning room food was the best. The staff was nice but the only ones that greeted us by name was the dinning room staff. The rock country band was the only entertainment I liked. There was two pools on the boat but I wouldn't really call them a pool. The pools were very small. I took a cruise with MSC and they had a big pool and it was a much nicer boat. It was a total 360 from carnival. The drummer in the band made us feel great. He took us around Cozumel and we had a great time. My favorite part of the whole trip was Cozumel, watching the band play, dinner in the dining room, room service and the casino. For me personally I would rather take a cruise on the MSC cruise ship. Carnival is a boat more so for kids.

We requested milk for her bottle twice at night and they bring it with a smile. In the restaurant I was suprise that her food was brign first. I dont have world to said how much I love it . And yes we are planing one, for all of our family. THANKS ,CARNAVAL PARADISE!!!

Destination Cruise by Cruisendive

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our Carnival Paradise 5 night cruise meet expectations for a budget cruise. One should consider spending more, if they want a genuine cruise holiday. We wanted to scuba dive at Grand Cayman and Cozumel. We were not disappointed. Carnival arrived in Port on schedule and our dives were phenomenal as Caribbean diving can be. That said, our cruise experience was disappointing. For casual dining the buffet breakfast and lunches always had a long line. This seemed to result in mostly rude fellow passengers and bad manners. Perhaps if Carnival did not close down the buffet lines in the early afternoon, the passengers would be more relaxed. The food quality was fairly low as well. Skip the art auction. It is poor business practice for Carnival to try and hustle huge dollar amounts for cheap prints. More on board activities are needed like ship tours and cooking classes, wine tasting. Staterooms were clean and cruise staff superb.

western carribean cruise by rose01

Ship design was like one of those 80's las vegas hotels. The cabiners and housekeeping personnel kept cabins clean. We had 11 people in our group. Cabiners were excellent. They seem to know when we are out of our rooms - we left our rooms untidy and come back to it clean, with folded animal towels and chocolates at night! The shows were excellent. There were late night shows for families with kids, and camp carnival has baby sitting (for a fee $10+/hr) after 10pm, otherwise, they have kids' programs all day long - they have kids activities and kids must be able to participate because they do not offer one to one baby sitting. Some nights i see group of 10 yr olds taken to pizza bar at 1am by facilitators - this was great i thought, as kids got to hang out with other kids their age. They had club nights for teenagers too.Quite a few buffet tables were closed after 330pm and 930pm. The only thing open 24 hr food wise was pizza and soft ice cream dispenser. The pool area stayed loud and busy with music, activity - not a good place to hang around if you wan to relax.

Disappointed by JLester

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were disappointed in our first (and probably our last) Carnival cruise. *We feel that there were a lot of hidden costs. *Most of the crew was not friendly..... almost appearing "unhappy" with their jobs. *The pool was closed 3 evenings of a 5 day cruise. *Photo quality was poor and there were no photo packages offered. and these are only a few of our issues with Carnival.

Pretty much as expected by Floridiantravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First the good Boarding and getting situated was very fast and easy The food in the MDR was okay as expected, nothing spectacular with the exception of the chocolate melting cake. Service was okay not spectacular. Entertainment was good two good shows on sea days the rest where not. Comics where mediocre at best. Self service disembarkation was fast The not so good: Buffets where not good food was just plain bland and poor quality Many tables in lido area remained with dirty dishes for long periods of time, I cleaned off a table so that I would have a place to sit. Pizza station was good. Pools where overcrowded and many people reserving chairs very difficult to find a place to sit. In all it was a pretty good cruise --------------------------------------- A non ship related note: beware of Alamo car rental in Cozumel inspect your car really well as they will charge you for any little I mean little scratch on the car. Upon return they not only did a visual inspection they ran their hands over the car for non visual imperfections. It's ridiculous.

Great Trip by wenz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything was wonderful! Carnival always does a great job on any cruise we have been on. Paradise was great for family vacation, food, entertainment, etc..... just needs a little more for evening teenage activities. Maybe a movie screen on Lido deck for all and any ages. Besides that Outstanding trip!

Great First Cruise by cruisingisfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise. We are couple in our 40's. We wanted to start close and small and this was a great invitation to cruising. The ship was big and nice but not too overwhelming. The staff was friendly and kept the ship very clean. We enjoyed the entertainment and the food. Wished there was another small pool in the Serenity over 21 area. (there were 2 hot tubs!) The other pools were pretty crowded so we didn't get in at all. Embarkation was easy and we didn't have any problems. Also wished they would have shown more movies! All in all, we had a blast!

Carneval Paradise by Ronny

The price was right, the food was good, and the service was great! This was the third cruise I have been on but the first time I went to any events on the cruise I went to three nights of comedy and Rob Little was hilarious! It was exactly the kind of vacation I needed, relaxing and no pressure!
