This cruise was fun but had many disappointments. Probably will not book carnival again. I have been on several cruises and this by far was the worst one as far as entertainment and activities for families. Bottomless bubbles was a joke as well they only had can soda and would use 1 can for more than one drink.

Moldy Room by rickrobnson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We originally chose this cruise knowing that it was more of a budget cruise.  Our expectations are always a little bit lower on Carnival than other companies.  The destinations on this cruise are two of our favorites.  We love Cayman and Cozumel.  We certainly cannot complain about that.  If you are looking to take your family (with kids) on a cruise, this probably isn't the right one.  Just about everything was catered towards adult shows.  They had a few family friendly shoes that you could tell had no effort put into them.  It was pretty sad.  If you aren't a severe alcoholic, don't love to gamble, and don't enjoy explicit shows, there isn't much for you on the Carnival Paradise.  The overall condition of the ship is certainly showing its age.  Our room, especially the bathroom, had a lot of mold that was making us sick most of the trip.  In the end I realized that you get what you pay for.

The Cruise experience was overall good.  The food in the evening at formal dining was not as good as i had remembered being in the past . The service given by Dino was excellent, though! Our cabin Steward I Puto did an absolutely wonderful job!

Carnival Paradise by Kmbennett11

The staff was very friendly! But the entertainment could be improved! Could have had more shows to go to! I think the cruise director could have put something better together. The food was very good! Other than that we had fun!

Rain and wind didn't take my fun time at sea by hergrands

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Yes I will tell others about it  the rain and wind could not take my fun I enjoyed the trivia games, karaoke, comedy, and shows.  the food was delicious. But only one thing I noticed there is no changing tables for the babies in the restroom and mothers was changing the baby on the floor or counter tops. I plan to sail with my family and I don't like the idea of my grands on the floor or counter tops. Also I have kidney trouble and need water why can't we bring water on board. I had it but it was taken from me. I drink a special kind of water. the hotel director Nyari Laszlo sent us cookies and chocolate strawberries for our 32 anniversary. and Dedy made sure our cabin was always clean and ready for us.Dedy greeted us by names every time. See you soon Carnival !

Our steward was fantastic by saahman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were taken care of by Agung as our cabin steward and he cared for us very well.

Dinner was excellent with prompt and very good service.

Ship was clean.

Only negative was the casino with so much smoke we were unable to use it which was a good thing as we would have lost more money.

You get what you pay for by jilljvogel

My favorite part of the cruise was the comedy shows.  The comedians were hilarious!  This is my first time on Carnival.  I have cruised many other times, but not on Carnival.  The staff seemed super tired and not exactly friendly.  Even the cruise director was clicky and not approachable.  The food was not as good as I'm used to.  Strange layout.  15 drinks and then cut off on the drink package, but at least no drinks were off the list.  Everything was included, even specialty coffee and water.  During the disembark, they turn the water off, so if you use the bathroom, you can't even wash your hands.  People are still eating from the buffet!!!!   THAT'S GROSS!   I'm not saying I had a bad time.  I met some great people and had fun, but it was likely the worst cruise I had been on in terms of comfort and service.

A great experience by Cruiser85240247

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our our family's first cruise and we had a really good time! The staff was so very helpful and always available. It was probably the best service we had received on any vacation. Our room was very clean. The Paradise boat itself is a smaller, older boat in comparison to other Carnival ships. Our family was underwhelmed by the main pool as it looked pretty old and small and was in need of some updating. I had no desire to get in this pool because it was pretty crowded. The wait staff was absolutely amazing though!! We really enjoyed the comedy shows.

My first cruise. by Cruiser52464982

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Enjoyed the entire cruise.  The staff was so accommodating and pleasant to be around.  Especially enjoyed out steward (Ericson) and the dinner waiters (Julius, Kamango(?) and others).  We could not have been pampered more.  These guys are an asset to your cruise line.  If every cruise is like this one, I plan to do more.

Going to Grand Cayman and being with the dolphins was a highlight for me, and the beautiful beaches were wonderful.  Just wished there was more time there.

Hope to be able to plan another cruise next year.

Carnival Paradise - Grand Cayman - Cozumel by user888016

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first cruise - chosen because friends that take cruises often recommended Carnival over the others, however, there was a distinct lack of activities or shows, no major shows - until the night before the cruise ended.  The entertainment was not as good as expected and there was limited dancing.  The pool was not big enough to accomodate all the guests.  My wife got sick twice eating the steaks.  The crew was great, the individuals that do so many tasks were amazing, they did not reflect any tiredness - there were several individuals that really stood out to us and made the cruise pleasant - Inegehia (room attendant), Ryan and the Cruise Director Calvin.  Peter from the shopping was really helpful when we got off to shop in Grand Cayman.  If you are not looking for lots to experience on a Cruise- laying around mostly - this is the cruise for you.  Drink Package is recommended.

Excellent and Affordable Fun! by jbrayton01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My family recently went out of Tampa for a 5-day Carribbean cruise - this was my second cruise, the previous one being a 7-day Caribbean out of Galveston. I had just as much fun this trip as I did the last. I was not huge fan of Jamaica (it was dirty and the people were not polite) when I went the first time, so I was glad I didn't spend the extra money to go on a longer cruise that included that port. This boat was smaller in order to fit under the Skyway bridge, but there were still great things to do on the ship the whole time! The Stingray excursion in Grand Cayman, and the Dolphin Excursion at Chakanaab park in Cozumel, were absolutely amazing.

Our wait staff on the cruise was excellent - we requested Shyleish every night. He took excellent care of us, and knew before we even got seated that we wanted diet cokes and extra butter - those little things made a huge difference! His helper, Dennis, was excellent as well.

Our housekeeping staff were ninjas - a gentleman named Romluk took excellent care of my husband and I. Everytime we came back to our room, the bed had been made, towels were fresh and clean, and he was very accomodating whenever we needed additional things.

The ONLY down side to taking this cruise, was that with a smaller ship, I felt the rocking of the ocean a lot more. My husband gets extremely motion sickness; with the help of the motion sickness patches, this wasn't really a problem except the last day when the winds picked up a little bit. I could definitely tell a difference in comparison to the larger ship that I had been on.

My favorite part of the cruise was the steward.  He was awesome.  This cruise had way toooooo many kids on it.  We could not enjoy the whirlpool.  There were kids everywhere.

Fun time on the water by Cruiser62917976

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were part of a large group of party goers. They made the cruise fun. While at sea, Carnival could have kept us better entertained. Not enough events during the day. Also, food could have been considerably better. That said, considering what we paid, it was a good value.

QUICK Get-AWAY by fever4u84287977

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a family reunion cruise that was enjoyable in many ways, but could have been better. First, the food on this cruise was absolutely the worse compared to the previously six cruises I've taken. Of the few choices that were available, the food was either over-cooked or tasteless. Second, I think the gratuities were excessive and often double charged.

On a positive note, there were many good activities and entertainment choices to participate in daily.  And the staff was extremely friendly & genuinely concerned about your enjoyment.

Had a great time! by rwfrey01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The favorite part is that we shared our son, daughter -intory-law, and grand-daughters renewal of their wedding vowels. The ships staff as well as the captains participation was excellent, and they did an outstanding job.

The only derogatory thing I could comment on was the fact that there were many individuals in both the pools and hot tubs that had plates of food and we're eating while in the pools and hot tubs, which was very disgusting, and kept me from enjoyingredients the pool facilities.

Great first cruise by Leona16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Paradise / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I enjoyed the nightly entertainment on board esp the production music and dance shows and stand up comedy shows. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Our waiters sang and danced for us. The food for the most part was average (buffet and dining), but some of the entrees were surprisingly delicious. As a first time cruiser, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't realize that some amenities like beverages (soda), Wi-Fi and hair dryer were not complimentary. We don't drink much soda so it was not a big deal for us, but for others plan to bring your own or pay a hefty price for the drink packages. We also wished there were more day activities planned for adults at sea because the small pool, casino, and shops didn't appeal to us. We found other activities to do during the day like playing mini golf and ping pong and watching movies. The ship was one of the oldest and smallest class of ships but we still had a great time and experience.
