Review summary

This was our first cruise - chosen because friends that take cruises often recommended Carnival over the others, however, there was a distinct lack of activities or shows, no major shows - until the night before the cruise ended.  The entertainment was not as good as expected and there was limited dancing.  The pool was not big enough to accomodate all the guests.  My wife got sick twice eating the steaks.  The crew was great, the individuals that do so many tasks were amazing, they did not reflect any tiredness - there were several individuals that really stood out to us and made the cruise pleasant - Inegehia (room attendant), Ryan and the Cruise Director Calvin.  Peter from the shopping was really helpful when we got off to shop in Grand Cayman.  If you are not looking for lots to experience on a Cruise- laying around mostly - this is the cruise for you.  Drink Package is recommended.

our room attendant was simply the best, very attentive, always greeting us in the morning by our names, attitude was positive. Loved the animals that he designed from the towels He deserves a raise :)

The bigger the ship, the more to do. I recommend the valor as well. Beautiful ship with lots to do. We are going on the paradise this time because we are taking some first time cruisers and wanted to start small. There is always something to do.

I agree with mrsmettin about trying a different ship. They're not all the same, and when we went on Paradise in January we found the entertainment lacking. We found things to do, but mostly during the day we hung out on deck reading a book or socializing with other guests.

I was on it last week and didn't get to "lay around" at all! I've found it is what you make of it! I actually enjoyed it more than the Sunshine, which I was on in May!

Definitely try another ship! Did your friends tell you to book the Paradise specifically? She is not one I'd recommend... I'd recommend the Breeze, Pride, Magic, Valor, or Vista!
