Had an awesome experience! by alma967

Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

We had an awesome time.  The entertainment on board was excellent.  Adam entertains with passion.  It shows he loves what he does.  The comedy show however had a repeat and that was not good.  They should have different show everytime.

Awesome vacation on Carnival Miracle by ltcarcione

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

We went on Carnival Miracle for Spring Break with another family and had a great time.  The ship was clean, had a ton of stuff to keep you busy, but the best part of all was meeting all the great people on the ship. What a bunch of great hearted people.  The crew did a great job taking care of us and we really enjoyed our trip.  Only thing I would say that we were a little disappointed about was the formal dining room experience.  While it was fun and the food was good - it was not quite as great as our last experience on Carnival Splendor.  All in all I highly recommend for a family trip - amazing experinece!

our 40th by Oursuperhappy40

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

Happy We would recommend this cruise.  We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary!! The itinerary was fun although we ran into fog, wind and cold weather going down and again back up.  It was beautiful in Mexico though!!  Our first night in the dining room, we were seated with various people.  There happened to be two singles, both from Canada.  We quickly became friends with them and we went on excursions together!! What fun we had!  We have become friends even after the cruise via e-mail and facebook and have promised that we will see each other again sometime!!!!  The only thing is, the Miracle could use a little refurbishing.  She was looking a little tired Wink

The crew and staff were so kind and always helpful.  Loved the ship and all the gathering places to share with family.  Lots of places to eat no matter the time of the day.  Would definitely recommend this ship and cruise to anyone.

A Lovely Shipboard Experience..... by loritroullier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

Although the cruise seemed like a value experience, the ships dining room and bars met a higher expectation. They should review their embarkation drill, and lesson the loud intermittent screaming whistle blows, with the almost unending wait for instructions. I picked my first aft balcony, which provided a gorgeous wake view. Unfortunately the calcium stained glass walls and the withered splintered banister and grungy balcony furntiure precluded us from sitting outside. The stateroom was not remodeled and seemed rather worn and unappealing. Other than those basic problems, the service was excellent and I enjoyed getting out on the sea!

We went to relax - and we did.  We loved Nick and Nora's steakhouse and went 3 times!  We had some nice dining in the main dining room the other nights also.  The service across the board was excellent.

The staff is FANTASTIC! by lorraineatemps

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

We will probably go on one of these cruises again, and likely to the Mexican Riviera, but may possibly try for a different ship. The staff on the ship seems to always be very cheerful, helpful and truly loving their job as well as being very committed to the passengers having a great time. We got a balcony for our first cruise, and while it was really enjoyable to have it, the amount of time spent out on it, might be a good place to save some money for the various other expenses and excursions one would want to enjoy. The food was pretty good throughout the cruise; my husband enjoyed all of it and they have some elegant things to try (you can get frog legs and other similar items). You can also get prime rib and nice steaks on some days without paying the extra fees for the premium dining rooms. The things to make sure to do: Order up 1-2 12 packs of bottled water for your room--we used two 12 packs during the cruise. You can also bring one 12 pack of sodas and a bottle of wine per person onboard--I suggest that unless you're  big drinker and want the (virtually) unlimited drink plan. Since both people in the same room have to order the same drink plan, we found it more economical to put about $350.00 in our "bar cash" account, prepaid, The all inclusive drink plan is double that amount and we had enough beverages. Your sodas and everything can come out of that too, and there is always free coffee and juice available. WHAT WENT WRONG: 1) The "tips" are levied on three levels and you don't have to pay all of them, but you might learn the hard way--we prefer to tip individually rather than the set rate.2) There are "buying opportunities" at every corner you turn: Art sales, watch sales, Levian jewelry, etc., etc.,--they make it hard to say NO., 3) the electrical sockets in our room were faulty as was our phone.4) I had an accident off ship, and got many cuts on my hands and broken glass left me wondering if I needed stitches, and if there was still glass embedded. The ship said that technically I didn't really book the excursion though them (just a link on their website for recommended tours), so they wouldn't see me unless I wanted to pay A LOT OF CASH up front and try to seek reimbursement through my insurance company. I refused and now my hand is infected. They didn't care at all. 5) There weren't as many opportunities for activities onboard as I thought there would be, like shuffleboard, etc.  WHAT WENT RIGHT: 1) THE STAFF IS awesome (except for the medical office), 2) The food was good, 3) The ship didn't seem crowded--there was always space for alone time. 4) The Miracle is an older ship and in pretty good shape, but certain things show her age.5) The drink deal is a rip-off6) Comedy show was free and GREAT!

****BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE FOR MAXIMUM SHIPBOARD CREDITS

Rock the Boat - No More Miracles! by cruisinsfun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

This boat never stopped rocking. Also, the sound of the engine vibrates the entire boat, including our room located on level 6.  The Jacuzzi at Serenity Lounge was always cold. The food was good and the boat is beautiful, however, I would not wish to return on this boat due to the instability on the water and the loud sounds of the engine.

Beautiful Ship by McGregor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

The cruise ship is a smaller ship and is very nice.  Our room was 8235 which is a large balcony room.  It was very roomy with am extra large balcony.  There are only a few on the ship this size, so look at a ship deck plan to pick them out.  The extra money is worth it.  Deck 2 is the action deck.  There are several entertainment venues.  The sports bar is impressive.  Another bar has a live band nightly.  There are several small bars and piano bars.  There is plenty of space to relax everywhere and enjoy a beverage.  The casino is on deck 2 also and is very roomy and despite smoking still being allowed tolerable.  There is a larger theater for live performances and a separate comedy club.

The live performance were energetic and were based on musical genre themes.  The 60's beach era, the 80s, and a salute to Motown.  Very energetic 7 person troupe.  The comedy club had 2 comedians for the first half of the trip and then 2 new ones on the 2nd half of the trip.  Except for one night comedians perform several shows from PG to R.  No show is a repeat.  I found the comedy to be very good.

The pool areas were nice.  It was a bit cool on the trip and not as crowwed as they might be.  There is an adult only pool area, but it is not large and fills easily.  It provides hammocks and little clam shelters to relax in.  And not this-a hot tob that is hot.  A general pool area actually has a dome it can close which made it feel warmer on cool days.

Now the food.  The Lido on deck 9 had a continuous flow of buffet food and pizza.  During the day Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Chicken, and Nachos were available near the pool.  The buffet has sever well signed stations.  Each with different themed food.  I found the selection good and the food was good.  Breakfast with eggs to order was good.  The Bachus dining room on deck 2 and 3 served the more formal meals.  Breakfast from the menu was very good.  The orange juice tastes fresh squeezed in the dining room.  Which had 'My Time' dining the first 2 nights then were able to switch to early seating.  I found service a bit strange.  Several times an appetizer and a salad or soup were put in front of me at the same time.  I have never experienced that on a cruise.  It seems a bit rushed.  Typically, only 1 fork was on the the table setting.  The waiter told me to keep it for the next serving.  I'm not a snob, but I expect better from a ship.  At our assigned table we had a waiter and 2 assistants.  Sometimes one of the assistants did the waiting on the table.  It seemed a bit unusual..  Although never pushed hard it seemed that dinners were rushed.  I found the food average at best.  My 4 star instead of 5 is because of the dining room experience.

There are lots of activities each day on the cruise that we don't participate in.  We like to relax during the day.  There were 3 stops.  Strangely we stopped a Cabo  two times.  We got off the ship (tendered) once for a short tour of tourist area.  Very clean.  Puerto Vallarta is stop 2 and we took a tour arranged through Carnival.  Had a very good time.  The tour was a tequila factory and Old Town tour.  Would recommend.

To summarize:  We liked the ship, its size, layout, entertainment opportunities, and our room.  Buffet dining was good.  Dining room dining suspect.  Just a note.  The dress code doesn't exist on this ship.  Don't pack your tux unless you like that sort of thing.  You may be the only one.  There are plenty of photographers on board.

The worst Carnival Cruise I have taken. by francesca93535

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

CARNIVAL MIRACLE.

I have taken several cruises with Carnival and this one was the worse.

I noticed the quality and quantity has decreased. The food was awful, and not available when needed at the buffet. The only food available was pizza and the cheese tasted like plastic. The servers hardly spoke English and difficult to converse with. Philippines servers were arrogant and didn't even want to clean the table.

Not the best experience by amturley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Mexico

We made the best of the situation we had. The first problem was the muster drill which took 1.5 hours in the blazing sun!!  Then the tenders to get people off the ship in Cabo San Lucas took over 3 hours!!  With only a 6.5 hour stop that was unacceptable to say the least. If you are looking for a cheap cruise this is it, but you get what you pay for. The type of people reflect the price of the cruise. Most people didn't bother to dress for formal night in the dining room and when it was casual night a lot of people wore baseball hats, which is not allowed.

Fun Cruise by jeanninecarta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Hawaii

I was never bored with 10 days at sea.  I felt like there was always something to do, and the entertainment in the evenings was top notch.  Loved the entertainment each night.  Enjoyed the dance teachers Tom & Jo from Florida.  They were awesome and I took all their classes, so glad to have them on board.

The true disappointment was the fact that we could not visit 2 of our stops, Kauai and Hilo.  I was hoping that we could have rearranged our itinerary to have included them in some way.  When you have 5 stops in Hawaii and two of them you didn't make, its a real disappointment.

The cruise staff were amazing, from the Cruise Director Jaime and her assistant TJ to the wait staff who were so accommodating.  I felt like the staff really cared how much I was enjoying my cruise.

Mixture of Good and Bad by chesszot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Hawaii

Let me start by saying we love Carnival cruises overall. We know what it takes

to put on a 15 day cruise for over 2,000 people. The captain probably saved our lives by not going to Kawai & Hilo due to the 100 mph winds/rain.

Having said all that it was disappointing to get only $39 pp back for missing 2 ports. Kawai was the jewel of this trip and Hilo had the volcano excursion. VERY SAD we missed both. $78 does not compensate for the loss.

Also, we noticed some shocking "cut backs" from our other 9 Carnival cruises.

No dedicated alcohol server at dinner. We had to tell our main server who simply was overrun as it was.Drinks came after dinner was served and almost finished. Drink prices rose. The daily "paper" has shrunk to a pamphlet and you can no longer request "unsupervised" activities as before. At night the TV would "scratch out", understandably DirecTV's distance from shore, but how does that explain the closed circuit channels on board? The blue menu channels had lines running through them. No food menu on the TV until day 10...(?) You order a movie, a "snow" channel comes on, and it doesn't charge you!...like it's completely broken. Other guests experienced the same so it wasn't just us. Told the front desk, they were almost rude and denied there was any problem at all. Kept saying  "just call us and we'll refund you" instead of sending a tech out to see or fix the problem. The food was overall good but some of the deserts like the cheesecake were horrid. I asked the waiter "Why did you kill Gumby"?...the cheesecake would bounce a foot if you dropped it.

Good things:

The steaks and seafood were incredible!...so perfect every time.

The crew was great, so friendly and hard working. The room was terrific. The

3 ports we got to see were great. The comedy club was tremendous.

The ship was very clean. The Cruise Director was wild and funny. The Captain and his crew, again got us there safely, we didn't do a "Titanic". The ship itself

was very good, not as good as the Dream, but better than many.

Very decorative. The big chess set's pawns were too tall, looked like bishops, and was right in the smoking section-- poor, poor choice, as kids love to play on it. ..disgusting cigar smoke filled the air in that area...also in the casino. (They're called "Smoke Eaters" Carnival...buy some!)

Overall a 6.3 out of 10. Not responsible for the weather, but some more compensation should have been given.

Great service and cruise despite the weather by colioli1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Hawaii

We were unfortunate enough to get caught in a really bad storm so two of our Island stops were cancelled. While we were bummed, we understand that safety is important. The food was amazing, especially the wait staff and our room steward with great as well. It was fun playing the games and the cruise director kept us entertained the whole time. There is plenty to do on the ship even though we were at sea for 8 days total, it never got boring.

Now that all the positives have been listed there was one big huge negative and that was Guest Services on board. Every single member of this team except one girl was horrible every single time we saw them. Our cabin filled with the smell of gasoline and it took them over 2 hours just to come down and we had been to the guest service desk at least three times before. Their way of solving the problem was to give us a free bottle of wine which I felt was completely unacceptable.

Other than that I would recommend this Cruise to anyone that loves cruising. 15 days is a long time to be at sea for many people so I would not recommend this as a first cruise. While I was disappointed with guest services the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I will be returning to Carnival in November.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Hawaii

Irisa went out of her way to help me with my husband who is DISABLED and in a WHEEL CHAIR getting him some breakfast on Lido and to the table in the Early Dining she was OUTstanding. Early Dining, Conrad, Conrado and their team was Outstanding as well. Now, for the cook, he needs to be replaced. For our Stateroom Stewards, ASIH, JOKO and KADEE, I can't thanks them enough. They went beyond what was expected of them (OUTSTANDING). I hope they ALL got a GREAT TIP. They deserved it Happy For paying a large sum of money for this CRUISE from HELL. What a waste!!!!!!!!!!

Overall a very good enjoyable cruise by 17usakidd76

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Hawaii

The entertainment on the cruise was exceptional!  Great shows and activities to keep cruisers entertained.  Most of the food was acceptable.  Most of the food that was NOT supposed to be served hot was very fresh i.e. salad, desserts etc.   The only minor complaint we have is that both on the Lido deck and Dining room the food was not always served as hot as expected.   The entrée food was mostly fresh but just had to be heated a in a microwave for about a minute for those of us that would like it a little higher temperature.  I was told a microwave was not available on the ship.  Other than the food issues I had a very enjoyable time and would recommend Carnival for a cruise.  I would rate it a 4.5 stars.
