Review summary

We thought Alaska would be a “bucket list” cruise and we would only go once. Now that we’ve gone, we can’t wait to visit again!

Embarkation

Sailing out of San Francisco was quick and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There were many options available as far as MDR, Lido buffet, Sea day brunch/port day breakfast. All were good and wait times were reasonable. Late night snacks were fun to see what was offered each night.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The usual trivia, karaoke, comedy, deck party, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary for a Carnival cruise. They did have a naturalist on board for the duration of the cruise. She had a few lectures and walks around the ship to look for sea life. She was amazing and we learned so much from her.

Service and Staff

Our MDR team worked so hard at making our dining experience each evening the best they could. We really enjoyed talking with them and they did an outstanding job.

Ship Quality

She’s an older ship but we embraced the decor and had fun just looking at all the design/scheme. Ship was clean and well maintained.

Ship tip

Be advised that if you are in port for a long amount of time, the tides may change. This means the deck that you get off of in port may not be the same deck you get back on. We made the mistake of running our shopping bags back to our cabin before our excursion began and they had to close off the entrances and exits to switch decks. We narrowly made it to our excursion but if we had known they literally close the doors and move everything to a different location we would’ve just stayed off and carried our bags with us.
