Review summary

It was ok. I would not sail again under current conditions. Lots of things were limited (casino table hours, FOOD, etc) but the price of the cruise was definitely not limited - full price for limited services isn't right. Food was very meh and a disappointment. They are obviously trying to push you to the paid dinner options. Not being able to get a slice of pizza after 10PM sucks. We met 2 people who were on the cruise after having done the same cruise the week before, basically being offered a free cruise to stay onboard...filling seats. Hmmmm... Mine certainly wasn't free or discounted.

Embarkation

Terrible... Very long lines outside (thankfully it wasn't raining), we had to carry our own baggage aboard, no one from Carnival was giving any information

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Granted it's been 10+ years since we last cruised, but the main dining room food was just not up to par. The steaks were gray, the offerings were just not what we were expecting.. The buffets - food was fair, maybe a 1/2 step above Golden Corral, but the hours were greatly reduced - no chance of getting anything to eat after 10PM (except ice cream). Staff were great - called each guest by name, good service.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Activities were ok.. We did Bingo, Trivia, attended several shows. The comedian was very funny but her act was not even 30 mins long. The musicals were good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows were good...musicians at the Alchemy bar (young man and woman) were excellent!!!!

Children's Programs

N/A

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Waiters and buffet staff were excellent. We did not use our room steward.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship is in dire need of an upgrade! The gaudy dining room (purple!) decor is ... awful. Obviously a much older ship in need of a facelift

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was clean, small as you would expect, but adequate. Balcony is very small

Ship tip

Don't

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

5 out of 5
We did a firetruck tour of San Fran, it was GREAT!! Also toured Alcatraz, which was interesting.

Juneau, Alaska

Port was fine, but our reembarction took almost an hour. Totally unacceptable, line to board was enormous. We did the gold mining tour, which was fun.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
We did the bordello tour, it was ok, but others in our group did the train...which i think was the better choice

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
We did the zipline...it was AMAZING!!!!!!!! Overpriced, but still great. Recommend.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

4 out of 5
Took the small boat tour right up to the glacier. This was an excellent tour. Recommend

Victoria, British Columbia

Very nice city, enjoyed walking around but we were there for only 4 hours so why even stop?

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We were able to get off quickly by carrying our own baggage again.

Thanks for the review. Cruising is not the same as it was pre-Covid and likely will never be exactly the same again. You should have been able to get pizza until 3:00 am and room service.
