Review summary

It is what you make it, we thoroughly enjoyed it, no complaints despite the weather!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had ‘Faster to the fun, so very easy and seamless, but no real lines anywhere that we saw

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining wait staff fantastic. We did anytime dining but still a managed to get the same wait team every night. They knew our names and brought our wine before we even asked for it! Food was fine, good variety. Buffet/Lido deck was OK, we only ate breakfast or lunch there but a decent variety. The Steakhouse is well worth a visit, food was excellent

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We used the Serenity deck and hot tub - pleased to see staff removing towels and belongings from loungers that were unoccupied for a while! We only really had one day of sunshine so was never too crowded. We walked our mile on deck 10 daily 😊 We did have a massage at the Spa which was great. Hate the hard sell for products, but at least I expected it this time!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Saw a couple of shows in the theatre - excellent. Saw both comedians in their PG shows and after dark shows. Both were very funny. The music around the ship was excellent, all very talented musicians

Children's Programs

Don’t have children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Dining wait staff were excellent. Only saw our room steward once but room was kept clean. Majority of staff were extremely friendly. A couple of times we had a bit of a grumpy barman, usually when they were working alone and busy. Alchemy bar staff were great, so much fun

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship layout was familiar to us as we had been on the Legend before which was the same, but I think it was easy to find your way around. Common areas were very clean. Decor is a bit over the top, especially the dining room but also fun

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great size and always kept clean. Wouldn’t choose directly under the Lido deck in future, but not too much noise - not enough to keep us awake! Good size balcony but was one of the set back ones which limited the view a bit.

Ship tip

Have fun, it is what you make it 😀

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Spent time on the Queen Mary, would definitely recommend.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Did a boat trip out to the arch and saw some whales which was amazing. Easy tender from and back to ship. Unfortunately the rain didn’t help but we walked around the marina and had lunch on the sand at the Office - under umbrellas!

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
Did the walk up to the Lighthouse. Guide was very knowledgeable. Steep climb along a path and then 342 steps to get to the top of the hill! There was no rush and plenty of stops to admire nature and the views. Spent some time walking around the old town

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Did the Hidden Mexico excursion. Would highly recommend. Trip up the mountains in old army trucks, over some unpaved roads (very bumpy but great fun). Some amazing Mexican food freshly prepared at a retreat in the mountains, with very friendly tour guides with a lot of local knowledge

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
No issues with debarkation, some lines but moved along quite quickly
