Wonderful 13 days cruising the Mexican Riviera

Sail Date: January 31, 2016

Reviewed: 9 months ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Very much enjoyed this cruise.  We had cruised on the Carnival Spirit,(sister ship to the Miracle), so it was familiar.  The embarkation at the port of Long Beach was extremely unorganized and difficult for those passengers who were Special Needs, but once on the ship, we had a good time.  Wonderful stateroom (cat. 9B, Premium Balcony), quiet, spacious, great veranda.  Dining was also very good - variety, taste, temperature, and friendly staff.  Entertainment wasn't as good as the last time we sailed with Carnival - only 3 production shows in 13 days, and no show band.

There was a violin duo that we did enjoy many evenings.  One of us was using a motorized scooter, so we were not able to utilize any of the shore excursions.  Thankfully the disembarkation was extremely well organized.  There was just my husband & I on the cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom
Very spacious, lots of storage, liked shower instead of tub, tastefully decorated, veranda also spacious. Quiet, good location close to elevator
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Embarkation - worst we have ever had, Disembarkation - good
Ship Quality
Very clean everywhere - easy to get around
Destinations and Excursions
Not able to go on them
Onboard Activities
Did not do any of the activities
Children's Programs
No children with us
Entertainment
No Mexican entertainment - music, dancing, Mariachi band, the "Journey" cruise content was supposed to have local entertainers
Service and Staff
Jusef - maiter'd in MDR, Joel our room steward
Food and Dining
All very good.
Long Beach (Los Angeles), California
The embarkation was horrible, but we did stay in a great hotel with a shuttle & free parking - The Hotel Current. Port parking is $19 per day,
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
La Paz, Mexico
Mazatlan, Mexico
Small shopping area at the port, shuttles from ship to it. Ex-pats to help you get around town.
Manzanillo, Mexico
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Tip

On this ship, be prepared for some unique decor.
