Don't do the excursions. You can venture out on your own and find that the same things are much cheaper. Take a cooler and tip your steward and he will keep it full of ice the whole time.

If you don't take a shore excursion in Grand Turk you are captive either on the ship or on an artificial small shopping area for Carnival Cruise Line with expensive shops.

The only tip i have is try to get to the events including eating at the buffet early so you can get a seat or table cause it gets a little crowded very quick. Sometimes we had to wait around 15 minutes to get a table at the buffet.

There is free trolley service in San Juan. To avoid waiting in long lines, get off the ship early and walk to your left along the sidewalk. There are signs posted for the trolley stops. If you go to one of the next two stops you come to, the lines will be MUCH shorter.

Don't try to go to dinner on time especially in the Southern Lights restaurant, especially on the third floor. Don't bother with formal night attire -- most people don't!

Pizza cafe is wonderful thin crust pizza and they will cater to requests. Walk around deck 5 if you think the sports deck is small and almost dizzy making. Don't be in a rush to get off, Carnival can't manage people moving well! Sea Day brunch is a must the pasta bar on Sea Days is also a treat.

Pools are tiny and not enough for all the people. Do not purchase excursions until you see the free options off the ship. The ports of call were awesome. Our cruise direction, Dr. Reverend E, THE REV, was AWESOME!!!!! Our dining staff was awesome. We loved ANYTIME DINING option.

Insist on a clean room twice a day. Seeing an unmade bed all day or receiving all messages outside your room is not the way to do it.

Relax and enjoy yourself. The only thing that made me upset was seeing unhappy people complaining just to complain. Its a vacation. Relax and enjoy every moment of it and smile :)
