Worst cruise ever by dep255

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

We just sailed for the last time on Carnival. Rerouted to Freeport. We received $100 cabin credit. A cruise to Bermuda is substantially more then to Freeport and that is all Carnival was willing to do. Other than Glen in the main dining room and I Gede our room steward, not one employee on the ship seemed to be eager to please anyone. The longest lines I have ever seen. Food was ok at best. Took at least 30 mins at any bar to get a drink.

Disappointing for my first cruise by lwhite1212

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

The "party" experience was fun, but that was it. The food was awful and the port we were diverted too was not even close to where we were supposed to go. It was dirty and nasty.

It was great. by Jutt

Be careful of the mustard dispenser at Guy’s hamburger stand. The mustard shoots out at people and ruins their clothes. It happened to most people.

We tried for the 3rd time to get to Bermuda. We went to Freeport instead, it is a ship yard. We'll try to fly to Bermuda next time.

This cruise was our first and we will go again. There were a lot of activities to do and the crew were nice and encouraging. We never felt out of place. We enjoyed our time on and off the ship.

Carnival Magic to Bermuda by Need2CruiseSoon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Magic

The Carnival Magic is a fantastic ship. Never felt the ship was over crowded. Never felt the wait was to long for the dining room. Plenty of food options. Some of the best food I’ve had while cruising post Covid. Bermuda is a bucket list destination for some reason it wouldn’t pop up to let me review it. So much to do in Bermuda. Very safe and the locals are some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Oh yeah since everyone likes to announce when they get sick on a cruise now. Neither my wife or I got sick. Nor did the 7 other people we knew on the cruise.

Embarkment was very efficient and quick (best in 8 cruises). Dinning room staff were professional and made sure we had a great experience and still made the late shows.

We ❤️ Bermuda! by Khs01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

We had an amazing cruise to Bermuda! We would love to go back again soon! We enjoyed snorkeling at Snorkel Beach & shopping in Hamilton! We loved the fact that you weren't harassed like you are when you go to the Bahamas. No one approached us at all to purchase anything. It was so refreshing just to enjoy the island.

Fantastic ship and itinerary by PainInTheBoat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Magic

Absolutely love the Magic. It is my favorite ship so far. I love the lanai. The coffee bar, alchemy, red frog pub and ocean plaza are all basically connected which gives you quick access to lots of drink and activity options. Bermuda was also incredible and it was nice to be able to come and go overnight with no rush to be back on the ship

Easy Caribbean Cruise leaving from Norfolk, Virginia by nanciecrespi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

I go on one or two cruises every year and am up to almost 50 by now. This was our first Carnival line cruise. We normally go on Holland America or Royal Carribean. We are an older couple. First of all, we were amazed that the food was excellent and the portions at dinner were larger than we got on our other cruises. They even gave us steak and lobster for no extra charge. The balcony cabins on Carnival are larger than on other cruise ships, and that has been a known fact for years. It was less expensive for us to take a Carnival cruise than other cruise lines. Usually, we get a suite for the two of us on Holland America. This time there were no suites available, so we got two adjoining balcony cabins, which was perfect, as we left the door between them open and had the two rooms which provided us with our own bathrooms and space to be in the cabins without overcrowding. We had four days at sea, so having large cabins was helpful. I recommend to always take Meclizine with you as we had hurricanes both going down and returning from the Caribbean and the seas had 9-foot swells. As an older couple we did fine. Make sure to take some formal wear for two dressy nights, as people really did dress in their finery with sequins and all. The pandemic is over and people are back to bringing their formal clothes as they want the freedom to express themselves, dress up again, be seen, and party. There was also a 70's dress up night and dance on deck and, thank goodness, I had a 70's outfit with me as nobody told me to prepare ahead of time. Other cruisers seemed to know and really dressed up in costumes. Our three ports were wonderful experiences and we were never bored as we have been at some of our ports in the past on cruises. During this time of high inflation and costs, it is nice to sail on Carnival Cruise Line, which has less expensive rates. It was also nice to be able to drive to the port rather than having to spend the money to fly.

Good enough to get the job done, just not magical. by Ricdalek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Magic

Overall this was a cheap September hurricane season cruise to ports I've never been to so it served it's purpose. I was underwhelmed by the overall CCL experience on this ship after years of sailing RCI with its seemingly endless choices. And it really came down to the simple fact that everything food and beverage related was a wait in some type of line and/or was limited in some other manner. Overall, when all is said and done it was still a fun cruise on a good sized fun ship and it never hurts to be able to drive to a port instead of having to fly. Unfortunately I hear Sunshine will be replacing Magic in NFK.

Change to Bahamas instead of Bermuda by andrewjf68

Original itinerary was to Bermuda but due to Hurricane Lee, we were rerouted to the Bahamas. Still a good trip.
