Review summary

We just sailed for the last time on Carnival. Rerouted to Freeport. We received $100 cabin credit. A cruise to Bermuda is substantially more then to Freeport and that is all Carnival was willing to do. Other than Glen in the main dining room and I Gede our room steward, not one employee on the ship seemed to be eager to please anyone. The longest lines I have ever seen. Food was ok at best. Took at least 30 mins at any bar to get a drink.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Long lines. Worse then an amusement park

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Same exact shows. Misprinted Fun Times. Missed the first part of a football game that was supposed to be playing in in main casino. Took over 45 mins to get the channel changed. Terrible on ship communications

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Same thing over and over. If there was not a casino, we would have had nothing to do.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
The slowest staff ever. Waited over 45 mins for a drink in the non smoking casino

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean ship

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Soft bed but clean cabin

Ship tip

Do not go. The only staff that seemed to be interested in satisfied customers was the Red Frog Rum Bar

Ports of call

Norfolk, Virginia

King's Wharf, Bermuda

You're blaming carnival for the weather and they were looking out for your safety. They didn't have to give you the $100. Rerouting is in contract, so if a plane goes a different route because of the weather and you didn't arrive when you was scheduled to, you will no longer fly that airline. Silly thinking when your best interest is intended.

I’m sorry to hear your experience. I went not long before you and had the complete opposite experience on the magic. Some of the friendliest staff I’ve met on a cruise ship and no issues with lines. I hope your next cruise meets your expectations.

Appreciate your detailed feedback. As already mentioned, cruising during hurricane season has a good possibility of itinerary changes. Technically no compensation is required. Hope you find a cruise line that will fit your needs better.

Rerouting is part of cruising during hurricane season, especially to Bermuda. No compensation was required as it certainly wasn't the cruise lines fault. The poor service elsewhere is inexcusable.
