Review summary

The Carnival Magic is a fantastic ship. Never felt the ship was over crowded. Never felt the wait was to long for the dining room. Plenty of food options. Some of the best food I’ve had while cruising post Covid. Bermuda is a bucket list destination for some reason it wouldn’t pop up to let me review it. So much to do in Bermuda. Very safe and the locals are some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Oh yeah since everyone likes to announce when they get sick on a cruise now. Neither my wife or I got sick. Nor did the 7 other people we knew on the cruise.

Embarkation

We parked at Cedar Grove. Waited roughly 10-15 minutes to get on a shuttle to the ship. Arrived just after our 10:30-11 check in time and basically walked straight on the ship. Easiest check in and boarding process so far.

Food and Dining

I would say the Carnival Magic has the best food out of the 3 Carnival cruises I have taken post Covid. Never had an issue with to long of lines.

Prime Steakhouse

This was the most disappointing steak I’ve had from the steakhouse. Steak was cooked perfect, but lacked the flavor. The rest of the food we had was fantastic.

Pizzeria del Capitano

The pizza was always good and hot. This is one of the few places they did have a line and felt a little slow. All depends on how many slices the people in front of you are getting.

Both pools were nice. We don’t usually spend a lot of time at the pools onboard cruise ships, but we had a good time hanging out on this one. Busy at times, but not to bad.

This was a good place for the comedy shows. The other carnivals shops I’ve been on if you’re not early you won’t find a seat. This was never an issue on the Magic.

Enjoyed sitting in the pool watching movies on the big screen.

The Carnival Magic has probably the friendliest staff I’ve encountered on a cruise ship in quite sometime. Every time you pass someone they smile saying good morning, good evening, or good afternoon. It might seem small, but it makes the cruise more enjoyable with little things. Our room was always cleaned up nice, and our room steward was always there if we needed anything.

I was very impressed with the staff onboard. They are constantly cleaning. Constantly up keeping the ship. All the carpets were being replaced while we were in Bermuda in the room hallways. Painting going on the exterior everyday. People don’t always see this stuff, but I have no doubt Carnival employees are working hard everyday to maintain the ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

Clean your typical interior cabin. Bathroom was a good size. Lots of storage. Not many outlets like your new ships have.

Ship tip

Deck 4-5 are good floors to get from one end of the ship to the other. On debarkation day use the aft elevators to get you down to the 4th floor then you will only have to go down one set of stairs.

Very organized and a pleasant process. Tip* if you have to pick your bags up immediately find a porter. The process will move much quicker for you with a porter. Felt like we skipped half the lines as he got us straight to the bus back to the parking lot.
