Review summary

The 7 day western Caribbean cruise met our budget, our sense of adventure and exceeded our expectations. It was our 5th cruise but the excitement was as if it was the first. Our room was perfect. our dinner staff got to know our likes and dislikes quickly and became like friends greeting us by name at each meal. The ship was full of activities and we could do as little or as much as we wanted. I enjoyed our excursions and knew we were well taken care of during these adventures. I love shopping and the deals always make or break the sale. I found treasures and gifts for everyone including myself. I never thought I would be able to afford the priceless gems I found. The beach at Mahogany bay was beautiful and a surprise I didn't expect. It made the day perfect. And after a full day of adventure the spa was waiting with a quiet space to meditate. We look forward to next year!!!!!!

Embarkation

We got there for the early embarkation. We walked through the check in with very little wait time. Everyone was friendly and smiling....even those scanning our carry on. The wait time was minimal and then we boarded. As always the "wow" factor struck us as we boarded the ship. We had some friends with us that had never cruised before. It was priceless to see their faces.ever

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Every meal be it in a dining rom, from the buffet or one of the speciality places on the lido deck had amazing options for us to eat. The staff went over and above to give the best service by getting to know us personally and helping us to get to know them . The drinks were amazing and the after dinner shots were Boomshakalaka Good!!!!!we we

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We took a dance class, went to shows and participated in some of the games. As always we laughed and laughed. My favorite time was the quiet hours in the spa.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The storms did interfere with the shows forcing a less dramatic presentation for safety. The music was diverse enough to get everyone on the dance floor at one time or another.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
These people strived to make you feel like close friends and family. More then once I heard "welcome home". I always saw smiling faces and warm regards. I always get tearful during the last dinner when they sing us "leaving " song during dinner because I think that they enjoy us as much as we enjoy them .

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean and well organized.

Cabin / Stateroom

We normall have an interior room as you don't spend much time in there. However this time we splurged on a balcony..... unbelievable. I loved it.

Ship tip

So much to do. Get involved. Get to know the wait staff and your room steward. The biggest highlight was seeing a server who served the after dinner shots on another cruise ship we had been on. When he came around the first night we recognized him and told him. The rest of the cruise we laughed and spoke to him every time we saw him. One day he noticed me sitting by myself on deck reading. He asked specially about where the other members of my party were by name. He then brought me a glass of lemon water....which I has drank at every meal....because it was hot and he didn't want me too be thirsty. That is how family takes care of family.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

We went on a Mayan ball game excursion in Cozumel and saw the ruins in Belize. Both were excellent. I would recommend making sure you have an excursion in Belize as the port was overwhelming and I didn'tfeel as safe shopping. Mahogany Bay was my favorite . We didn't have an excursion planned but the beach was beautiful and the shopping was perfect.

Cozumel, Mexico

Love the shopping. It's ok to haggle here. My hubby likes that they pour him tequila shots while I am browsing. I will always go back

Belize City, Belize

Not my favorite port but the excursion to the ruins was great. I would not hang out shopping here

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Love love loved this port. The beach was perfect. We swam and played in the water after walking through a beautiful walking trail. The shopping was perfect and I was given a great deal on the Korite ring and pendant that I never thought I would own. I even bought it from the personal sales man of the gem. It was amazing. We had originally planned to stay on the ship at this port as we didn't have an excursion planned. I am so glad we didn't.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Beautiful and full of Mexico flavor. It was fun to explore.

Disembarkation

I hate that the adventure was over but if I must leave it better be as quick and organized as possible. It was. I waited my turn and then we left with no issues.

We were on the same cruise and and ditto your remarks. Except for the dance classes. Made a lot of new friends as well and the Halloween night and party was a blast.

There was some Latin music playing in the dance clubs.

I will be on The Magic in a few months. Do they have Latin nights and do they have an all white party night?
