Review summary

Didn't go to any of our ports had a different itenary. Would have liked to get the option to not go before the cruise started. Carnival should have continued with our alcohol package for free while we were stuck on the boat

Was on same cruise with you. When cruising during hurricane season, be prepared for changes. This is my 3rd time being on a diverted cruise. Carnival Cruise Lines, the Captain and crew did what was needed to maintain safety of all on board, but still give us a great cruise. I never expected to be sailing into New Orleans on the Mississippi River or witnessing a possible at sea rescue attempt. What an adventure. We also had food, clean rooms, entertainment and were safe. In future, don't plan to sail into the Caribbean or even Western Mexico coast during Hurriicane season.

so you should have received free alcohol along with free cabin, free food and free entertainment? alcohol is not a necessity. wow you are a piece of work.

This is a cruise forum and the comments are relevant to cruising. There is valuable information here for new cruisers who may be oblivious to cruising in hurricane season. I honestly don't believe OP or anyone participating in any such thread are unaware of the human impact of hurricanes.

you know when people lose a family member, or their house, or maybe a special pet, vehicles, I can't even understand how people can bitch about a cruise! be thankful your alive and all is well! sorry if I'm being rude but I sat in front of a TV for 3 days praying for my family! who made out ok!

Carnival did the best they could under the circumstances. This is why I don't risk cruising during hurricane season.

Carnival probably could not carry enough booze on board if they offered free drinks.

Sorry forgot to say on the magic we got an extra 5 days of FREE room and board FREE food, FREE entertainment, FREE INTERNET ,FREE laundry service! What else do you need! Some people are just never satisfied!

We just got off the magic! Had a great time! They took great care of us! If you don't like having your itenary changed don't cruise during hurricane season!

I can see this from both perspective and I'm not sure I would expect or want free alcohol if I was in your place. First this wasn't their fault, second people are upset and getting them all liqoured up probably not a good mix. I know people buy cruises for the itinerary but this is hurricane season and the cruise lines do what they need to do to keep people safe. The cruise contract allows them to do so, but even absent of that it's the captains moral and legal obligation to do so. Sorry your cruise didn't go as hoped.
