Overall, I had a great vacation. I will continue to cruise and try new ships. If you haven't tried the Carnecal Magic, do so. You and your kids will love it just as much as we did.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty fast and painless. We got through the line within an hour which is quite awesome with the amount of people boarding the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I wasn't as impressed with the food selections but none the less it was ok. The thing I hated most was the fact that places lime the Mongolian wok and pig & anchor bar, closed down way too early. We had over 3000 people on our ship, carnival magic, whom all wanted to try them out but never had the chance. They were only open for 3 hours a day and most of those hours were during the times we were on ports on other islands. That just made no sense. And then other times, the lines were too long to wait. It makes no sense to wait in a line that is stretched all the way out to the lido deck pool. I guess they figure first come, first serve but didn't we all pay our money to enjoy good dinning? I wanted my money's worth too. Anyways, selection was not as great.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
My kids loved the water slides, pools, and golf course.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I attended most of the parties, contests, and I had fun in the casino. My only complaint would be that most of the activities were for the younger crowd between the ages of 18-25. Not many for the older people like me in their 40's. Comedians weren't that bad but weren't that funny either. Loved Dr. E, though. He was an awesome cruise director.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My kids loved the kids clubs. My 5 hear old. Never wanted to leave. The staff there was awesome and kept the kids well entertained.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward, Lloyd, was the best. He made sure we had ice in our room at all times and our room stayed nice and clean. He knew is by name on the first day we boarded and that's impressive since we traced with 7. Totally awesome Lloyd was his name by time we left our ship.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Clean ship. The only downfall was the fact that after day 3 on the ship, the hallways smelled like sewage on some decks. The smell was there but the areas were clean.
Cabin / Stateroom

Comfortable bit the shower area was a bit tight. Not enough room to really shower. But room was very nice.
This was a very boring port. Nothing really to do unless you are willing to pay $70 to get out of the gated shopping area. Which is something we were not willing to do. Why pay $70 just to get put of the gate and then pay more for excursions? Sorry, not this family.
Things were priced as if I was in NYC....one long sleeved shirt was $30. No thank you!!!! So we did a tour instead of shop....that was awesome. We had a guide named "sweet Marie", and she was the nicest tour guide you could ever wish for. If you're looking for a nice guide and a good tour, look for her. You'll love her like we did.
Wonderful beach and the ATV tour was awesome. Didn't like that the tour horses were I'm the same sectioned off area as us swimmers but I knew to get out when I saw it. I'm not the only one who felt that way because A lot of people exited the water when the horses came in. Not to sanitary if you ask me. None the less, still fun island.
