Overall I enjoyed this cruise and the ports. Carnival Magic is a new ship in the carnival fleet which they do a great job maintaining. I was not happy with the number of people or the bottlenecking on board. Looking forward to booking my next trip.
Embarkation

The Carnival Magic is a newer ship in the Carnival Fleet. They do an amazing job caring for it every day cleaning, painting and maintaining it to keep it looking fresh. Dr E was the cruise director. He is full of energy and one of the top cruise directors I have cruised with. My balcony room was 6322. It overlooked a whirlpool and the sunning chairs as well as the walking deck. We had a great view of the ocean every day. Our ports were Amber Cove, St Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. They were all great and enjoyable. Non of them I LOVED, but I liked them all. I can cross them off my list. Overall the Magic was a nice ship but too many people on board. There was a lot of bottle necking and lines built up quickly especially on Lido Deck at the food. There was rarely an open table for eating. We had to go to shows 30-50 minutes early to get a seat, otherwise, we missed the show because there were no seats. The Punchliner Comedy Club is WAY too small for the size of the ship and was literally a "sell out crowd" nightly. They need to look at having the shows in big theatre so they can hold more people. Overall my boyfriend and I enjoyed our trip but we probably will not sail on the Magic again.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
I don't sail Carnival for their food. I rate the food just a step above Fast Food. Doesn't taste good. My boyfriend actually had an allergic reaction the one night in the MDR and we ended up having to leave early.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed all of the activities just not enough seating for all the people on board.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Staff and performers do an excellent job. 5 stars.
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
My room steward was awesome he is 5 stars. Overall we felt we did not bond with the staff on the Magic like previous ships. They are almost "disconnected". They say your name but don't tell you theirs. They don't try to get to know you or let you get to know them. We did not further tip anyone other than our room steward which is rare for us (meaning we did not give out EXTRA money on top of the tips carnival charges us for).
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Layout of the ship is terrible. Very hard to get around. Poor design. VERY clean and VERY well maintained. They were power washing and painting the outside while we were on board. Smoke filtration is TERRIBLE. Anywhere around smoke areas stinks from the smell.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Very clean and well maintained. Mattress and pillows needed to be replaced, were not comfortable at all compared to other carnival ships.

Explore the ship! It took us all week to figure out the layout!
