Formal nights aren't old, people are just lazy and disrespectful! I would much rather see people dressed as if they were on the red carpet rather than a dive bar. People complain that the cruise lines standards have dropped but in reality its peoples standards that have dropped! Its 2 nights and 1 on some cruises....really?

Personally, I think 'formal' dress is over-rated. While I agree that shorts and a t-shirt is under-dressed, dressing for the red carpet or prom is a bit much. A nice dress, skirt & blouse, or pantsuit for women; dress pants and nice shirt- with or without a tie- for men should be all you need. On regular dining nights, we choose to be comfortable by dressing clean and presentable.

What do u mean formal nights are "old?" We enjoy dressing up on elegant night. Don't care if others don't want to, but they need to eat somewhere other than the mdr on elegant night.

Worrying about what other people are wearing is none of my business and formal nights are old. I don't like noisy people either but I don't let it bother me.
