Carnival Legend Cruise Reviews - Reviews

This was a family cruise taken during my wife’s birthday. It was a great cruise. My wife and I had cabin 4176. We had no complaints either the shop or the excursions. The scenery is just amazing!

We've cruised many lines before, but we often come back to Carnival because you can't beat the value.  And of course, you can't beat a cruise to Alaska!  This is not a Caribbean "booze cruise" (as our waiter pointed out).  It is all about the destination.  We were blessed with outstanding weather (72 and sunny every day).  You must splurge and get a balcony.  (We got an extended balcony...cabin 8237...I can't say enough about the perfect location and size of this room...request it specifically if it's available...4 chairs on the balcony, couch and table, lots of drawers and closets, and RIGHT down the steps from coffee - and pizza, etc.)  Tune to the Forward Camera station on the tv and then sit on the balcony with your binoculars and listen to the naturalist tell you what to look for.  Saw an incredible number of whales.  When we weren't on the balcony, we spent our ship time just hanging out in the card room or a bar or restaurant with our children...lots of activities on board, but we relaxed instead.  Took 3 United-sponsored shore excursions instead of booking on the ship.  While it was supposed to be cheaper, the prices were the same.  However, the variety was slightly different and I think our groups were smaller than the cattle call groups on the ship.  And I never had a worry about getting back to the ship in time (and of course, United guarantees it).  Best excursion was the Skagway Triple Adventure (bike, hike, and float).  You have to be ready for lots of exercise, but it's not overly crazy, with lots of stops to look at the views and take pictures...and OUTSTANDING guides.  Just loved it.  In fact, 2 of our children have decided they will come back and spend a summer in Skagway to be a guide.  After our tour, went to the Brew Co in Skagway for lunch and beer - recommend the Spruce Tip Blonde Amber!  

Our first cruise. Everything was better than expected. The ship was clean and well maintained. Not old and dated. The service was impeccable. The room was cleaned throughout the day. Bed always made. The food was incredible. If you wanted two lobster tails, no problem. Two appetizers, no problem. Take your own glass of wine to dinner, no problem. The entertainment was over the top good. Good music/dancing shows that are broadway quality. Good comedians with fresh material and new acts rotated on the ship. The embarking and disembarking was much easier than anticipated. Always something going on. Great cruise director. One giant plus was the ship had their own naturalist on board who alerted us to whales, dolphins or wildlife. She was very knowlegeable. She also gave talks on board. I would highly recommend this cruise. Much better ship/cruise than I expected.

Over all great cruise, staff is very kind and always ready to please you, boat is clean and well maintain.

Food is good at all the restaurants and snack bar,

The only 2 things i would change are 

- The formal dining room for dinner, tables are mixed and you might end up with crazy people, which happened to us.

- The stop in Victoria, does not leave you any time to see and enjoy Victoria.

We definitely would take that cruise again,

Just got back from Alaska on the Legend.  Our grandchildren ages 4, 6, and 9 had a great time.  Camp Carnival was a wonderful program for children, other activities on board like Sailing with Dr. Seuss, and the water slides were outstanding.  I would also highly recommend the fast to fun program when traveling with children.  It took us less then 40 minutes from the time we arrived at the pier to get to our cabins!

The Carnival Legend must be one of the best of Carnival's ships. I sailed on it in 2015 and I loved it! I've been sailing with Carnival since 2005 , about 12 times and this ship must be the best one i've ever sailed on. Let me know what you guys think or if you have ever sailed on this. And i can't wait for my next cruise in June to the Carribean

We enjoyed our cruise to Alaska on the Legend.  Our only regret was not having enough time in the ports to explore the sights.  After we completed our excursion it was time to board the ship.  We only had time to explore in Skagway, AK.

From start to finish, very little effort towards customer service. Muster-a shambles,,disorderly, uninformative. Seemed like a box needed to be ticked to fulfil commitment. Dining services more often closed than open!    Only food available out of hours was Pizza!  Staff in buffet disinterested. Often dirty plates piled high, long queues for monotonous food and no clean tables. Staff rinsed out mugs when running short-no sterilisation evident. Seated dining room often closed at lunch times. Food pre-prepared and chef left the area when second sitting started.nhand sterilisation units outside dining areas often empty and were pushed to the side so that very few people noticed they were there. Entertainment team hard working and provided a variety of superb shows.  I have cruised often with other companies, and Carnival falls too short for comfort. No customer satisfaction  or comment reports at end of cruise-says it all!  I'll never use them again or recommend to others. 

This is my favorite ship out of all the ships I have sailed on with Carnival (18 cruises). I have a cabin booked for 2019!. I have been on the Legend two times and have found the ship and crew exceptional.

The Legend is kind of a strangely decorated ship. I was disappointed that there wasn't a bar/lounge on the top deck with a view of the ocean. I've never been on a ship that didn't have one. The entertainment was boring. The food was good but the portions were too big. The casino was large but the smoking areas were scattered all around so you could never really get out of the smoke.

I loved travelling on the carnival legend. My family also loved it. The cabins were nice, the pools were great to swim in and the ports we visited were beautiful.

Perfection!!! Had a really good time endless food😜 staff was very helpful. The spa was so relaxing and everything was just perfect! Will be going back!!!

My second cruise & second time off Australia 24th September 2014, Room was upgraded & also got to attend a VIFP party with some frequent cruisers🍹 Met some great people onboard to celebrate the festivities. Beautiful ship, Great staff & Delicious food, lots of activities onboard. Discovered freshies 😍

We've cruised extensively with Carnival and this repositioning cruise was truely the cruise of a lifetime for us. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this cruise and highly recommend repositioning cruises for anyone looking to receive the greatest value for their money.

Took the Carnival Legend in August with family. Enjoyed the trip and the food. As far as entertainment that was very limited. A few nights we had nothing to do. We have traveled on many cruises and of all of them the entertainment on this ship was the worst. The only thing that I would give a high five was the comedy act by Diane Ford. She is a must to see if she is ever on your ship. She has a family friendly and over 18 show. My grandchildren loved going to her shows ages 8 and 10. Myself and grandpa loved the over 18. As far as the crew all were fantastic. Friendly and helpful. my husband uses a scooter and some mornings  they were very helpful with his food and even asking him what he wanted and getting it for him. Over all very pleased with the trip.

Took an 8 day/7 night cruise from Tampa to the Western Carribean upon the Carnival Legend. The staff went above and beyond, the food was excellant, both in the main dining room and the buffets, the cabin was plenty big for 2, and the entertainment for the most part was great. The ports of call were nice as were the excursions we took plus spent just a day on the beach in Honduras.

Ship was clean, beautifully decorated and renovated.

I was in awe when I stepped on the ship.!  The dinning was great except the first night and was address ed to the matre d and was taken care of after that. The ports of call and activities was great...One suggestion that there could of been another option for dancing...Like ballroom dancing..My friend I went with wanted to ballroom dance and wasn't very good options for that..Other than that, I'd do it again...

Entertainment was lacking. Basically same show every night! Ok if you really love musicals, which we don't! One show was even repeated...Also, the activities during the day seemed to be geared towards selling you something (ie-spa treatements, jewelry in shops,etc.)
