Review summary

This 15 day cruise was a celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary. There were absolutely no significant problems. We were treated like royalty, The food was tremendous. The ship was most comfortable and most of our Ports of Call were a lot of fun. The nightly entertainment was a pleasant surprise. We had the most wonderful travel experiences on this trip. And, my wife did quite well in the Casino!!! Ricky Gibson, our Travel Agent at Choice Priviledges Cruises guided our plans for this cruise. He made it happen!!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarcation was so smooth - It was easier than checking into a hotel.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The variety of selections and food quality in the dining room was better than expected. The buffets and specialty places were excellent.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did not participate in most activities. However, the pools and hot tubs were great and the fitness center was the best ever.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The group of entertainers were outstanding. Their versatility and talent was the best we have seen on any cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was superior in all categories.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
While there were 2,000 passengers on this cruise, you would never feel crowded. The layout made everything accessible and convenient. This was primarily a seniors cruise with many walkers and wheelchairs, yet everyone could move around freely. I never heard a complaint about the layout. The ship was spotless and constantly being cleaned.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was spectacular. It was about 9ft. x 25 ft. with a balcony. It had a king size bed, sofa, desk, large storage cupboards and a full bath. We were twenty steps from the elevators amidship. The partially obstructed view was just above the lifeboats on the Port side of the ship. The steward kept our room spotless at all times.

Ship tip

Relax, you are in good hands. Prepare to be spoiled!!! You're gonna luv it!!!!

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

5 out of 5
How can one find fault with Tampa? In relation to cruising, Tampa has everything organized so well. We prepaid our parking, so we drove up to the embarkation location, showed our receipt, and they took care of handling our luggage and parking our car. We walked through the terminal and boarded the ship. Of all the Florida ports, Tampa is the best. We did not take an excursion because we have visited here many times over the past 50 years.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cozumel improves more every year. There is so much to do here, it can be a vacation destination itself. Our excursion was the Journey through Mexico's Past and Present. It consisted of a guided tour through small scale examples of each significant part of Mexico's history from the clash of the Mayan and Aztec cultures; through invasions by the Dutch, Portugese and Spanish; to the present. This tour encompassed so much in a few hours. I recommend it for everyone, especially Seniors and children. It is most impressive!

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

2 out of 5
Puerto Limon is a big NOTHING!!! There is a nice building with vendors for T-shirts and some other touristy items but that's it. This port was developed in the late 1800's to build a railroad across Costa Rica. It was replaced by the Panama Canal. Most of Costa Rica's culture and economy are on the Pacific side - NOT the Atlantic side.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

3 out of 5
This was the most important item from our bucket list. We finally did it. It was extremely slow! Four hours in, four hours sitting idle on a lake, then four hours out. Carnival should have arranged a docking on the lake for shopping or excursions.

Cartagena, Colombia

The approach was breathtaking. For miles around the harbor there were tall white skyscrapers. It's easy to see where the wealthy from Venezuela have moved, as well as the American hotel and condominium money has been spent. These spectacular buildings lined the harbor and concealed the slums behind them. We took the Party Bus Tour, which was great fun and gave us access to the local people. Plenty of shopping available also.

Oranjestad, Aruba

5 out of 5
Aruba is great!!! We had a fun Island tour that was quite informative and picturesque. We also enjoyed a Sunset Cocktail Cruise in a large catamaran!

Willemstad, Curacao

3 out of 5
The ship was not able to dock in the downtown location that we have used on previous visits. The new pier is not located well for tourists or for the vendors or tours - too far to walk to the downtown shopping areas. Our tour had to send cabs to pick us up and bring us to the starting point for the tour. They also had to send us back to the ship in cabs. This needs to improve!!!

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We,ve been here a few times and it is our favorite Port of Call. Lots of shopping, a brief tour in the Glass Bottomed Boat, and a mandatory visit to "Hell and Back".

Disembarkation

Impressive! Carnival had everything planned well and it went so smooth. We left the ship, went through customs and our car was waiting for us. No Problems.
