I had a lot of fun. I enjoy not cooking or cleaning and having my hotel room travel with me. I do wish that Carnival would enforce their policies / rules or not have them at all.
Embarkation

Smooth. Got to the port about 12-12:30p.m. No lines anywhere.

Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I don’t have to cook or clean!! I miss the freshly made deli sandwiches and there is a new brunch menu that does not have my favorites (hen a la diavola & the tomato soup). Hubby was happy with steak & eggs. The Executive Chef, Evangelisto Vas, was wonderful.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Enjoyed the fitness center (wish it opened at 5 instead of 6). Enjoyed the pool in the Serenity area. The walking track is a wonderful place to exercise and see the sunrise over the ocean.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Music everywhere. Wish the volume was lower so conversation would be easier. The playlist cast was talented, but not as exceptional as on other cruises. Enjoyed the hypnotist shows and the love & marriage show.
Children's Programs
No children with me.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Main dining room head waiter Made and his team were excellent. Room steward and team were fine. Cruise director Jen Baxter was full of energy and excitement. Be nice if rules were enforced by security team (hallways clear, no seat saving on decks, no shorts in MDR on elegant nights).
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I noticed more staff cleaning and maintaining than I have in recent cruises. I love the layout of Spirit Class ships. I wish the casino would be enclosed instead of open like it presently. The smoke inundates the air all the way up the atrium & is very noticeable on Lido deck by the buffets.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice, plenty of storage, good to have couch to sit on.
It had rained a couple of days prior to our arrival. Our excursion was cancelled due to “black water”. We walked to Cabo Wabo but found out once we returned to the ship that we had walked in sewage. Apparently the rains caused flooding and the sewage was in the streets and ocean.
Nothing to do at the port but a few souvenir stands. Must bargain prices. Excursion to Antigua. Interesting history and architecture. Lots of street vendors who don’t understand “no” or personal space. Don’t plan on returning to Guatemala, but glad we went once.
Port was commercial as was Guatemala, so only souvenir shops, but more than Guatemala. Was able to walk down street if desired. Excursion was bus, boat, & train. Interesting to see how people lived, boat ride seeing flora & fauna (birds & crocodiles), train was one direction through mangrove swamps full of discarded shampoo bottles, water bottles, children’s toys, clothing items, and various houses and warehouses. Could have done without the train ride. I would like to return to Costa Rica and see the sloth habitats.
I had some concerns about Columbia, but none were validated in Cartagena. Street vendors but not as aggressive as Guatemala. Did land & sea. Would do again.
Aggressive street vendors. Scenic drive went through slums. Did not feel safe. Was able to get panoramic photos but guide hurried us at that point. Most of excursion was about their hero, Simon Bolivar. Do not plan to ever return there.
