Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
We enjoyed the food everywhere until the 3rd formal night when 3 of the 4 people at our table (who all ordered the lobster and shrimp) became violently ill about 4 hours later. Missed going ashore and our excursion in Grand Cayman. Next two days were awful but this did not override an otherwise awesome experience. It was obvious that there was an issue (but no one - Medical, Dining or Guest Services would admit it) since the water shuttles never required tickets all day and there was no wait except for the people on the shuttle waiting for it to fill up which sometimes took a long time.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
You should be able to find something you can enjoy if you look.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Sorry, but the Playlist Players were not at their best level yet. Seems like many performers were having trouble with their earpieces as they were pulling them out during their performance.

Service and Staff

Great people taking wonderful care of us. Who can complain?

Ship Quality

Ports of call

Santa Marta, Colombia

Other than the canal transit probably our favorite day. We highly recommend the La Victoria Coffee plantation excursion. Established in 1892 they still use 100+ year old water powered equipment. Hope you get the owner for your tour as she is amazing. So remote that the last 30 minutes you have to get into 4 wheel drive vehicles to reach the coffee farm through a rough tropical rainforest “road” but that is a fantastic experience itself.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

Beautiful country and very clean and “Americanized” by their own admission. We did a wonderful coffee plantation tour in the mountains.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Beautiful but we were there right after a huge storm and the beaches were closed because the water was dirty and unsafe.

Cartagena, Colombia

Old beautiful city with lots of history. Great land and sea tour.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

Active volcanos you can see from the ship. Great excursion to a macadamia farm in the mountains.

Panama Canal Transit

Once in a lifetime experience for us. No rain and absolutely amazing.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Stayed at the Hilton at the marina. It was close and easy.

Tampa, Florida

Easy airport run.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Could not go ashore as we had food poisoning from dinner the night before.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise

Oh no! Sorry to hear about that. Our sons got sick on our second cruise and while it didn't totally ruin it, it sure does put a damper on fun. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Interesting. Our first cruise in 2017, was on the Carnival Legend. I was sick with food poisoning from the seafood gumbo. Everything else was fine. I stear clear from anything real saucy with sea food now.
