Review summary

This was a great cruise for my family. We all had something to do. It was educational and fun. It was more expensive than any other vacation we have done (including other cruises) but totally worth the cost to us.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was very organized and they kept the line moving quickly. The whole thing took less than half an hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We didn't eat at the buffet, but the MDR was great for breakfast and dinner. My kids ate at Guys Burger, the pizza place, and the deli a lot and really liked those.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't do many of the activities on the ship because we had done them on earlier cruises. The kids went swimming but the adults did not.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We only went to the comedy shows (all ages) and they were terrible! The comedians admitted they didn't have much material for the younger audience. This is the first time we had been disappointed with the comedians.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Both of my kids begged to stay in the kids club. They had tons of activities for them to do. My kids really liked the crafts, games, and scavenger hunts.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our dinner waiter was grumpy but all of the other personnel were super friendly and helpful!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There was only one time that we saw a common bathroom that wasn't clean and that was on the first day, right after we boarded.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was 6158 (not 5168!) and was a suite. This was a great cabin! There was so much storage (drawers and closets) that all of our stuff (4 people) could be taken out of the suitcases. The suitcases fit under the beds. The balcony was great for the four of us and the room didn't feel too crowded, even when we were all in there.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

There is so much to do here! If your schedule and budget allow, I think it is a great idea to spend a couple days before or after. We went to the Great Wheel, Underground Tour, Space Needle, Chihuly Glass, Mariner's baseball game, and Pike Place fish market. We enjoyed all of them!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the train, sled dogs, and gold panning excursion. It was a lot of fun! We all got some gold to take home with us, too. After that was done, we had lunch at Skagway Brewing company and had the spruce tip blonde and fish sandwiches.... absolutely the best fish sandwich I have ever had! The beer was pretty good, too. All of the people we met were very friendly and helpful. It was easy to get around the town on our own to shop, too.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the helicopter tour to Mendenhall glacier. It was awesome! The pilot was very friendly and pointed out things for us to look at (mountain goats, etc). Being on the glacier was unreal. It was so beautiful. Drinking the water was cool, too. It was amazing! We had lunch at the Red Dog Saloon. They make their own root beer that is really good. The food was pretty good, too. My son didn't like the seasoning they used on the hamburger but the fish was really good. Our waitress was super nice, too. We walked around to shop near the port, too. There is quite a bit of shopping right near the ship.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the Great Alaskan Lumberjack show and we all loved it (ages 11-65). Some say the jokes are corny but we like that sort of humor and really had a good time. It is amazing what they can do! We didn't have time to eat here but we did some shopping near the port. There were a lot of options very close to the ship.

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
We were only here for a few hours. We chose to walk to downtown. It was about a 25 minute walk each way. The houses are really neat to look at. There were a few shops that we saw but there were so many people that it was hard to look around.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, this was very organized and we got off pretty quickly. We waited in the MDR until our number was called and our bags were waiting for us when we got to the baggage area. Super easy!

So glad to hear you liked the cabin 6158 and your cruise. We have that cabin on our upcoming Legend cruise 10/12 through the Panama Canal. Your review made our day!
