Everyone's "bucket list" should have Alaska Inside Passage on it! It's not a real party hardy crowd and dress is a bit more casual. We met folks that have cruised Alaska every year for the past ten years and told us it has never been boring. The vistas are so stunning and the wildlife always worth the trip. :-)

Incredibly organized and smooth! We found ourselves onboard and exploring the ship in less than 30 minutes!

Food and Dining

Truffles staff incredible. Got to know us and our likes by the second night (even though anytime dining, we stayed with the same head waiter through out the cruise). Only went to the buffets during off peak times, as we went to MDR for our meals. Buffet food was always fresh and plentiful. Hooked on pizza Pirate and Deli, and who can turn down a midnight ice cream cone?
Unicorn Café Lido Restaurant

Only went during non-peak hours, because seating was a bit of a nightmare. Food excellent, plentiful and fresh :-)

Outstanding service and AA+++ steaks and trimmings!Didn't have "room" for dessert, but our waiters let us bring back to our room to eat later!
Pizza Pirate

Be careful or you'll be hooked on 3 a.m. pizza. Probably the best thin crust pizza I have ever had :-)

Make a point of checking out. So much fun to have a taste from other restaurants that Carnival has in their fleet.

Great place to grab a quick sandwich!
Onboard Activities

We weren't really into the pools, but took advantage of the few lectures that there were. Husband loved the fitness center and sauna. I took advantage of the spa on the first sea day. Both were just what we needed to unwind and enjoy.

Folks were always willing to help no matter what question we had. Had a can do attitude!
The Fun Shops

I didn't do that much shopping, but "window shopped" the first couple of days, spatted a few things I was interested in, and kept an eye out for the sales. Bought some carved jade bears at 70% off!
Cloud 9 Spa

Had mani/pedi on first sea day. I felt so pampered and my gel manicure lasted a month!

Entertainment

Can't say enough positives on shows. Always good seating and thourghly enjoyed by both my husband and I. Only regret is some nights we were so tired from exploring the ports, we didn't make it to some of the shows. In Skagway, a folk musician came aboard with music and history of Skagway. It was not to be missed! Fun! Funny! And oh so interesting.
Children's Programs
Just me and my hubby, celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary :-)
Service and Staff

From the maitre d' to the wait staff, the dining room experience is not to be missed. Thoughtful of our food preferences and understanding that this was our first cruise, we always felt pampered.
Room steward was so very good and fast, after the first day we didn't really see him, except in the hallway. (and always a smile) Magically our room was all tidy, the wonderful towel animals appeared and if we left a note or message, he had it done before we knew it. (We left him an extra tip, even though we paid the mandatory gratuities)
Guest services were always gracious for any questions or problems we had. A++ service!
Ship Quality

Yes, if you look in the corners of the balcony you could see a little rust and if you're picky a bit of peeling paint (Legend has under gone a refit since then, I think?)
But everything was beautifully, quirky and clean!
Felt like a 4 star hotel!
The design is over the top, but fun and just full of nice nooks to people watch or to get away and read a book and watch the scenery.
I cannot tell you how incredibly many whales I saw from our balcony and from the deck :-)
Cabin / Stateroom

This was our first cruise, so did not have a comparison. The step up into the bathroom was a bit tricky at first, but easy to remember after a couple of stumbles. Even though we were under the pool, it was never that noisy. We brought a sound machine and that did just fine. For Alaska, you must have a balcony! I spent so much time out there in all kinds of rain and cold. I even saw sea otters one day!
Ship tip
Don't forget your binoculars!!! The vistas along Alaska's inside passage will take your breath away!
Arrived 2 days early to explore, and found we could have spent a week and still not have seen everything we want to see.
Did make it to Pike Place Market twice.
Did a whale watching combined with salmon bake. Whale watch was astounding!!! We had a whale spy hop and was "watching" us!!! The salmon bake was okay, but bring your sense of humor. Food, including salmon, was from CostCo in Juneau. And the entertainer was a bit muffed everyone wasn't tipping as much as he liked. All good, even though my hubby and I went to the buffet when we returned to the Legend. (Food was better onboard the Legend)
White Pass Train excursion and got off in downtown Skagway, when the train returned. Needed cash, so we checked out the Wells Fargo Bank in town. It was a bit of a hike, but worth it. They have their original safe in the lobby and the bank is like a time gone past. Checked the shops (fun to look, if you aren't in the mood to buy). Just plain go exploring!
Just posted some letters from the postal drop on the pier and then wandered the water front. We want to go exploring more when we return this September.
