Review summary
Getting close to the huge glacier in Endicott Fjord was breathtaking. Watching whales was marvelous. The Skagway White Pass Train ride up to the border of Canada is not to be missed! Alaska is a beautiful state and we only saw a little bit of it, need to go back! The Legend was the perfect size ship, not like the bigger ones. Hardly a wait for breakfast at the Lido deck's buffets, even at lunch on sea days it was painless. The staff is so very friendly, the food was delicious. My only comment on that is the menu doesn't change from ship to ship at all, it would be nice to have different ones. We had wonderful waiters and an attentive room steward. Afternoon trivia games and bean tosses were fun, no outdoor activities due to colder weather, but that's okay. Embarkation was a breeze as was debarkation, best we've seen so far on any of our cruises with Carnival! Organized excursions -- in Skagway, there were 3 different train rides. 30 minutes in advance, they asked all ticket holders to meet in the theater, sorting them out to the train ride they were taking. We left one group at a time -- this avoided that hectic looking around and crowds outside the ship. They did this in all ports with popular excursions. They did everything right! Would sail on that ship again in a heartbeat, but would like to spend more time in Juneau and Ketchikan, that's all.

Ship tip
If you like a smaller ship and don't mind the absence of outside decks, this is the perfect ship. The theme is Legends, there's a huge picture and description of Buffalo Bill in one stairwell, there's a great photo of MGM stars and personnel in one of the hallways. Lots of things to see and do!
