Great family holiday cruise by ChristyP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

we had a great time on the carnival glory. the ship is large with alot to offer everyone. our biggest complaint is the lack of supervision by carnival or parents of the 13-18 crowd. they roamed the ship withno adult to watch them. this needs to be addressed, before an accident happens. that fact aside we were very pleased with our staff the itenery, basically the whole trip.

wasn't the best by PamelaK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

we were disappointed on cleanlines of ship, the staff was not very friendly and the food in the formal dining room especially any beef products was horrible. i did not know there was such a thing as a bad, tough filet migon. did not like the broken up so to speak floor plan ie could not walk all the around on any deck. loved the putt-putt and the water slide. also the chocolate bufet was great. however the grand gala buffet was the worst i've ever seen.

A wonderful anniversary cruise by JoanR4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband's last ocean cruise was to Germany in 1957 with the U.S. Army, so he was a little hesitant about taking the cruise. You cannot even Imagine his delight with the beautiful staterooms, wonderful food, entertainment, and overall treatment. Both he and I are looking forward to the time we can afford to take another cruise.

Good Cruise by GaryC8

Ship needs updating. A rock climbing wall, movie theater sreen outdoors and round dining tables should replace all booths in dining room....booths are for Denny's, not cruise ships.

The best time of our lives!!! by Danielleh11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our overall experience on the Carnival Glory was beyond our expectations. We had a great time and made some great friends along the way! Everything about the ship was amazing. The ports of call were not great however! There really was only one port we liked out of 4, Cozumel, Mexico

Glory's Wonderful New Itinerary by RichardJ4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were excited to visit the ports of call on Carnival Glory's "Exotic" western Caribbean itinerary, but then Hurricane Dean changed all that. So for the two cruises before ours Carnival had replaced Costa Maya and Belize with Key West and Progresso. We were not excited. But two days before our cruise Carnival called to tell us we would go to Belize, and replaced Costa Maya with Roatan, Honduras. That was great news. We were not disappointed. Our visits to Cozumel, Belize and Roatan were wonderful. These are great ports with lots to do and things to see. We went as a large family group (six couples). Our excursions included Mayan ruins, snorkeling, and self-guided shopping tours.

THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN ON THE GLORY by TedB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

THE TWO ALTERNATE PORTS OF FREEPORT AND ROOTAN WAS NOT INVITING. BELIZE WAS OK IF YOU DID NOT GO OUTSIDE THE COMPOUND. WE HAD A SUITE THAT HAD A VCR, BUT THE SHIP DID NOT HAVE ANY TAPES TO VIEW. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE HAD TO BRING OUR OWN.

The Best Family Crusie Yet by KristenW1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For the past 5 years we have been taking a family cruise, with cruisers age 2 through 90. Every year the cruisers changed a little but overall we have had 10+ people each time. The important factors for us when booking a family cruise are 1. how good is the kids program, 2. what ports are we going to, 3. how many bars and clubs are there 4. are the single people on this cruise? This cruise had it all. The kids program and staff were energetic, loving and absolutely wonderful. They were always having fun and look forward to having the kids there. The ship had outstanding stops (Cozumel, Belize, Roatan, and Freeport) , which changed from our original cruise because of the hurricanes that hit . The beach break on bannister Island in Belize was the most beautiful place we have been too. The ship was immaculate and the staff the most courteous I have experienced. The entertainment, I have got to say I personally did not experience but some in our group said the comedians and magicians were great. The only complaint I have and it's not a huge one is the dining room choices. Everything I had was great, however if you have been on a Carnival cruise before, you know the menu. Which again is good and bad. If you know what you like it is going to be there, but if you know what you didn't like, it is stil on the menu. Overall we had a fabulous time and would highly recommend this cruise.

Standard Cruise experience by LizC3

This cruise was pretty much what I expected. Standard shipboard experience. There was a mixed age group, which actually surprised me for a Carnival ship.

Just what I needed by RuthieW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I was so pleased with the overall Carnival operation. The service was so friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing. I could find the party locations or some peace and quiet on a nice deck overlooking the beautiful water. There was so much to do---however I found it very relaxing.

We had a lot of fun by JamesJ82054483

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a lot of fun on this cruise. In general there was a younger crowd on the ship that had a lot of energy. We were disappointed in the organized events on the ship. They seemed to be generally lacking with organized things to do and left the entertainment up to the layout of the ship itself. The theater on the ship was nice and the shows were decent. The mix of entertainment was nice but limited to Comedy and Vegas Style Cabaret's. This particular cruise visited two of our favorite ports in the Caribbean - St Thomas and St. Maarten - both of these ports were amazing as always and offer so many different things to do. The ship also visited the Bahamas which if you've never been to Atlantis is a must see. From the pier it is only a short 10 - 15 minute boat ferry ride to Paradise Island and the absolutely amazing Atlantis hotel. We definitely recommend making that trip if you've never seen the hotel before. The cruise also offered 3 days at sea which is nice but we felt an extra port would have been nicer than the 3rd day at sea even if it was a short day. Overall this was better than most cruises we've been on but not the best. If you have a family especially with teens this is a great cruise for the teenagers, although beware that the bar staff will be rude to the kids when they try to order soft drinks. This seemed to come down to the soda cards that are offered for a flat rate for the week (about $5 a day) won't generate any extra gratuity for the wait staff, so the kids were almost always completely ignored and if they did speak up would get spoken down to by the staff to wait their turns or they'd get to them when they had time. Outside of the rudeness of the bar staff to the kids the rest of the ship does a great job of giving the kids great places to meet other kids and things to do together. Hopefully enough complaints come in about the rudeness to the kids that the staff will fix that - this and the poor service in the buffet area cost our rating a full point - we would have rated this cruse excellent otherwise.

The worst cruise ever by GloriaY1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My first cruise with Carnival was on my honeymoon in 1988 and I remember at the time thinking that this was the best thing ever. You were treated so special and everything was so wonderful. I no longer feel that way. Nowadays they cram as many people as they can on the ship and try to have every food known to man available but by doing this they really sacrifice the quality and service that was once so important to cruise lines. It seems like Carnival wants to provide the "poor" mans cruise. They may charge slightly less than other cruise lines but at what cost to the cruiser? The employees are obviously just there to do a job. They do not make you feel special at all. This was not the case in the past. Carnival has really gone downhill on their service and for that reason, I will never cruise with them again.

I read many reviews before we went, but none compared to the time that our family had on this trip. The ship was beautiful, the people were outstanding and the service was impeccable.
