The worst cruise ever

Sail Date: August 11, 2007

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Oceanview

My first cruise with Carnival was on my honeymoon in 1988 and I remember at the time thinking that this was the best thing ever. You were treated so special and everything was so wonderful. I no longer feel that way. Nowadays they cram as many people as they can on the ship and try to have every food known to man available but by doing this they really sacrifice the quality and service that was once so important to cruise lines. It seems like Carnival wants to provide the "poor" mans cruise. They may charge slightly less than other cruise lines but at what cost to the cruiser? The employees are obviously just there to do a job. They do not make you feel special at all. This was not the case in the past. Carnival has really gone downhill on their service and for that reason, I will never cruise with them again.

Pros: It was a cruise

Cons: The decline of the ship and the service

Recommends Carnival Glory? No.

Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau is just a nasty place. I guess if you must, take a tour but the shopping is ok. The Pirates of Nassau is kind of a waste of money but its something to do other than shop.
Belize City, Belize
Nothing to do unless you do a tour.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
Probably the best port there is. Love the pool. If you like to sip drinks by the pool, this is the place for you. Don't get off here just to shop though. Pretty pathetic.
Don't Miss: the pool
Cozumel, Mexico
A good amount of shopping but pretty much all the same stuff. You have to pay for a taxi to go to the shops. Pretty run down though.
