Carnival Glory

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 12, 2023

Ship: Carnival Glory

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

The Glory is beautiful and clean. However, navigating the ship is an adventure but who's not here for the adventure. The aft pool and hot tub are 18+. Nice quiet area. This area also has a retractable roof which is in my opinion, genius! Very few kidlets on this particular cruise but the ones that were, were adorable.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our boarding time was at 1030. They started boarding at 1045 by zones. Went quickly. There are no elevators so if you physically can't make the trip up the ramp, ask for a wheelchair. All the staff were super friendly and eager to help.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
MDR is gorgeous and wait staff friendly. Elegant nights, the filet mignon was melt in your mouth deliciousb and the lobster was amazing and you could have two. All in all the three carnival cruises I've been in since returning from the shut down, Glory for had been the best. Aby, Igusti, Francis were our waiters. Sea day brunch laid back with super, friendly wait staff. It was just ok. The bar b q is amazing and I highly recommend. Of all the carnival ships Glory by far has the best bar b q that I've had. We had pizza pirate room service. My pizza was not good. Soggy with burnt black crust. Not worth it as far as room service. Breakfast room service was good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Cruise director, Johnny, and his team are enthusiastic and fun!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment; the Glory Rock band is amazing. Very much enjoyed them. Juggling bartender at the getaway show! The stage shows are phenomenal.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
If I could I'd give this section a 4.95 star. Simply because every single staff member with the exception of one were simply the best! We had a negative encounter at the service desk and the first person to help us was off putting. However, he did by request print our booking details, we got back in line and the next person did help resolve our problem.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and beautiful. The casino did not smell like smoke. It is tricky navigating the 4th floor but we figured it out. Loved the aft pool area. 18+ with a retractable roof.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was clean and fully functional. AC worked very well. Our Steward was Andrea and he was top notch.

Ship tip

Ship tips; if you sail during Mardi gras season, give yourself extra time to get to the port. Rooms on Glory are not ready to go until 130. If you can't walk the port gangway, ask for a wheelchair escort. Unlike Miami there is no elevator to get you up level with the ship.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

holy moly 5 ships were in port the day we were there. Crowded but we had fun. Went shopping right there at the port area. Senior frogs has the best drinks at any port. Had a good time.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

nice people. We took a taxi to port lucya to shop. Then came back to the port. Honestly, next time I'd just stay at the port. More to do and more of the same type of vendors. Be prepared to be pressured. We had a fun time at senior frogs watching everyone do the conga and dance on the bar.

Key West, Florida

fun fun fun lots to do and see. We did the trolly hop on/off and highly recommend for first timers. If you want a picture at the southern most point expect to wait in a long line. Everyone we met were very friendly.

New Orleans, Louisiana

NOLA is NOLA. Busy busy busy but everyone was helpful and friendly. They all do a super job!

Disembarkation

It was just ok. Stood single file in line once we got through the photo ID and slowly made our way out of the building. Miami spoiled us.
