Review summary

Very disappointed in change of room service - no longer included, everything costs. Cabin steward Adi was THE BEST CABIN STEWARD I'VE HAD ON ANY CRUISELINE!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation, while line was long, was overall smooth. Especially given the COVID protocols, it was a quick, easy process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was average, as it always is, but the process for checking in via phone and using phone to access menu was not made clear, so it was frustrating. Also was not told that room service is no longer free. Open dining times did not coincide with excursion return times, so having only pay-for food option was frustrating.

Platinum Restaurant

4 out of 5

Food was good, service slow, ordering process requires phone.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Did not participate but there were options

Entertainment

Did not attend but there were options

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Adi was THE BEST CABIN STEWARD I HAVE EVER HAD!! He knew our names Day-1 and addressed all our special requests.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Too many non-passable areas that required going up or down to another deck to get get to desired location. Ship was very clean- always saw someone cleaning somewhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
5 stars not because of amenities, luxurious extras, or size but because it was exactly as expected based on previous Carnival cruises. Shower is small, linens are super soft and water was very hot.

Ship tip

Take your phone and plan on using it throughoyt your cruise - you need it to check into dining rooms and to view the menu. Also need phone to access daily activity planner as it is no longer printed/distributed.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

2 out of 5

Bimini, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Canceled so no idea

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Only suited for beach goets, nothing else to do.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

2 out of 5
Excursions canceled, people friendly

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy - both on the ship and through customs. Because I opted for Facial Recognition during boarding, Disembarkation was a breeze and did not require another stop at customs. Luggage was in correct place to claim, porters were available.

Not all room service has a cost. This was implemented before the shutdown. Appreciate your feedback.

Sorry about your cruise.

We ordered room service and weren’t charged for it - only ordered coffee and pastries so maybe that’s why?

Many dining options are closed at ports end so crew is ready for evening dining rooms. There is ALWAYS somewhere to eat. Pizza, guys, deli. All free. Phones are used for everything now but menus are available if you ask. Sorry you were disappointed.

I'm sorry it wasn't made known to you that most of the stuff you are unhappy about had options. The room service was changing 3 years ago when last cruise ended.

Thanks for the review. The charge for room service was implemented several years ago.
