This was our first Christmas Cruise, our first cruise out of New Orleans, and our first cruise on an older ship class. Although it was a neat experience sailing at Christmas, we found out that we are not winter cruisers (the temp is obviously cooler but even more so than we expected when at sea, and with only about 9 hours of sunlight the day flew by). Going out of NOLA is an awesome experience. And although the Glory is an older ship, it still has everything need to keep you happy and full.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was our first time to cruise from New Orleans. I wasn’t sure what to expect for the embarkation process, but overall, it was a good speedy process. My favorite part was the fact that you unload and hand over your luggage to a porter right there in the terminal garage. Super convenient. From entering the garage to boarding the ship was about 45 minutes.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We hit up all of the staple eateries (Guys, Blue Iguanas, Lido, Pizza, BBQ & Seafood Shack) throughout the day and ate at the MDR every night. We were never disappointed with food or service.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I can’t give a personal experience review because in the December air, I wasn’t getting in the water. But, we did observe a lot of kids with no problem enjoying the pools and water slides. Warmer weather and I would’ve been in there too.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
There seemed to be more spots throughout this ship for entertainers to set up. There was always different musicians performing at different area of the ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We had 2 adjoining staterooms, and a crazy schedule, yet our room steward was always on top of it. Our cabins were always made up and cleaned whenever we returned from enjoying the ship. Mahendra and his team are definitely top 3 of all of the waitstaff that we have had. Our assistant waiter I’Depa even made napkin animals almost ever night. (Never seen that before)
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well-maintained. The layout is very similar to the ships in other classes. For ADA, it was a little different navigating the upper decks because not all of the elevators go to all of the decks.
Cabin / Stateroom

We enjoyed the suite quite a bit. Plenty of room to move around and relax. With the separate changing/ makeup area, everyone was able to get ready at the same time.
Nassau is always fun. My wife, sister-in-law and son did the Dolphin Encounter and had a blast. My son made a new flippered friend that loved long hugs
Since we drove to the port, we waited till the last group was called to get off. It was pretty easy, however, at that point the terminal was crowded with people waiting to embark, so getting an elevator to took a little longer. But overall it was smooth sailing.
