Review summary

Always love to cruise no matter how many negatives. You make it what you want. If you are thinking of booking this ship, then please think again. Just to many issues with it as a whole

Embarkation

Very speedy. We were on the ship by 10:45

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The main dining room was just okay. The selction was very different and waiters said it was a new menu but wasn't being received well by guests. Food was just luke warm and I had to send back on several occasions but when it returned, very quickly, it was piping hot. The bars were good but Lobby bar was awesome. Great bartenders and we had a lot of fun with them.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots to do all over the ship. Unfortunately a lot of activities had to be cancelled due to weather conditions. Some were relocated indoors but it lost the excitement

Entertainment

Stage shows were pathetic. I wish Carnival would hire REAL singers and not these wanna-bes. My grandkids could sing better than any of them. Actually hurt my ears so we treid but left for all of them. The Musicians around the ship were good for the most part. Soe were far to loud but wouldn't turn it down. They need to realize that if they had gone down even 1 notch, they may have sounded 10 times better.

Service and Staff

Our cabin steward was OK. He did his job and that's about it. We are used to engaging with them and getting to know them, but he was not willing even though we tried to pull him out. Waiters on open decks were not very visible except at the bars, RFRB or BI, so we would go up and get our own. Waitstaff in diningroom were awesome for the most part. We had 1 night that they didnt even smile, so never went that way again. 3rd night of 14 we found Oswin and that was it. Every night after that we would wait for his section. We also went to breakfast in his section. He was amazing and we all wanted to take him home with us.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
We have sailed this class before and knew our way around so it was nice. As far as cleanliness, the washrooms all seemed to be lacking attention. No soap, no TP, and wet floors. A few were flooded.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin is one of those weird shaped ones so there is a ton of room. Loved it for that. The noise was crazy. We knew there would be some because of location, but the first night we didnt sleep at all. Roaring, clanging and banging. The next night was a bit better but that is when the vibrations started. Most night the movement helped lull us to sleep but the noise would always wake us up several times through the night as they were going faster. DO NOT choose this cabin if you are a light sleeper. We were so exhausted from the days activities that it was not bad most of the time until port days when the doors under us, would be creaking, slamming, shaking us out of bed. Not sure what they were but it was every port day so something to do with the tie ups I would guess. Our sink gurgled constantly and water actually came up into the sink several times. We would put the plug in to stop it but then it would come up and fill the shower. Quite disgusting. The shower was VERY slow draining so when you were in it, your feet were covered in water the whole time.

Ship tip

The ship desperately needs a drydock. Very old, rundown and there were leaks all over the ship. Several fellow cruisers came back to their cabins to find an inch or of aer in them. This ship is not scheduled for drydock till next year, so I would recommend a different one until it is resolved
