Review summary

The ship was huge and really had everything one could ask for on a cruise. Decor was a little tacky (Vegas style) but it was all in the spirit of the "fun ship" I suppose. The ports of call were not terrific, I've been to nicer islands in the Caribbean before.

Actual room was very spacious and nice, window was great. Placement of room was the problem (2nd floor, just above the engine on the rear of the ship). It was like sleeping through an earthquake every night!

Ports of call

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

As with Cozumel, the beaches were still rocky and not super soft sand. We relaxed under a hut along a beach in Mahahual, but it was extremely windy which made it a bit unpleasant. However, the massages for $20 are fantastic and you will find them everywhere! You can also stay by the port and there is a pool there (a bit like Cancun - young kids dancing to hip hop music, etc.) and shopping.

Nassau, Bahamas

Finally some white soft beaches! Only problem we had a very limited time in this port (docked at 10:00 and left at 3:00) so we really didn't have as much time to enjoy it as hoped. We went on our own to the Atlantis resort which was amazing. You can see great fish, sting rays, sharks, etc. without even paying for the actual Digs tour (I thought that was overrated). You can see plenty just walking inside and around the resort itself.

Belize City, Belize

Belize is an extremely poor country, and the city can be dangerous. I recommend going on an excursion through Carnival in this port. Some people liked cave tubing, but we did the Altun Ha mayan ruins and River Wallace tour, which was very informative and fun as well.

Cozumel, Mexico

Beach was relaxing but disappointing in that the sand was rocky and dirty, not soft white sand like some other islands have. We just relaxed on Paradise Beach, where you must order a chicken burrito because it was fabulous! The staff was great, they bring your order right down to you on the beach under an umbrella.

Cons: Stateroom - we were above the engine and it was awful (noisy, shaky, etc.)
