Research all stops along the way. No one on board will provide guidance. And no one from Carnival outside the ship to help people know what to do.

Don't be afraid of a longer cruise...we enjoyed our sea days just as much as our port ones. Of course we had calm seas and really warm weather for a fall cruise.

Bring your patience getting on and off the ship. We heard of plumbing issues on decks 7 and 8.

Try different activities and food while on the ship. Don't stay stuck on doing the same things and eating the same foods everyday because it will eventually get boring.

Be prepared for lots of drinking and low quality food. The buffet food was expected, but the main dining room did not meet expectations. Some nights I took one bite and was done because of how poor it tasted. We ate a lot of pizza on this trip - the pizza was fabulous! Overall it was an enjoyable trip, but will most likely never sail Carnival again.

Get to the comedy show early and embrace the staff. They all work very long hard hours et always smile and make a point to remember you.
