The foreign workers are so hard working and have a smile always on their face, Us Americans could never do that type of work we r lazy. They made the experience so smooth, they do as they say with no complaints wonderful stewards and dining staff was amazing

IFirst cruise by mccourtney

We really enjoyed ourselves! There were so many activities to be part of. The cruise director Malcolm was awesome and the staff in the dinner service was top notch. We took our 13 year old and she really disliked Circle C. Seems like that age group really didn't have very much going on, it would have been better to be younger or older, their groups appeared fun! The lines were really long from some of the food places but the food overall was very good.

Carnival Freedom review by troykris

The cruise was great.  Very fortunate to have warm weather without rain for the entire trip. Worried about sea- sickness but no problems whatsoever.  The VIP Dolphin experience was amazing!   Well worth the price.

Fun cruise for the price. by daniallinley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Freedom is a nice ship with top notch employees.

The port of progesso Mexico is very small and there is nothing to do but look at a few shops that all have the same items or drink by a small pool. You would be happy with the area if you plan an excursion in the area.

I was not pleased with any of the dinning on the ship. The fast food and serve yourself food was very good

Getting off the ship this time was a pain, and on the edge of ridiculous.  Out of our room by 830, off the ship just before noon, cleared customs 2 hours later.

Don't insult your guests by daned55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

During the Welcome aboard show Malcom irritated me to no end. $ time stopping the show because he did not think he was getting enough applause and noise fro the audience  even walking out into the crowd and calling one passenger "Grumpy". Look this is not BOOT CAMP some people just don't want to scream and stomp. It does not mean they are not having fun.

Other than the bad weather it was a good time.

Bad experience by kimberlycarey1k

the dinner waitress was rude , we was fortunate enough to get her twice. Russian lady that goes by the name Maria.Carnival Freedom cruise announce that you can pay 15% gratuity if you want but they still will also give you an additional  automatic gratuity charge. I was charged over 102. Gratuity.. I could hear the waves hitting the ship at night time. The pools was closed the majority of the cruise. Guy burgers was awesome, love and marriage show was hilarious, Bill was a good comedian.

Overall great cruise. Some areas for improvement. by TRH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Despite an initial weather delay, the cruise departure was uneventful.  We enjoyed the entertainment, the dining options and felt we received good value for the Cheers! beverage program.  The negative with the Cheers! program is that it required everyone inf the stateroom to purchase it.

Biggest negatives were 1) the only late night food options were a VERY limited room service menu or a VERY limited pizza place (the night we tried to get pizza, they refused to make any pizza except pepperoni and the wait was 20-30 minutes in line), and 2) miscommunication about the Chef's Table.  We signed up for the Chef's Table dining experience as we boarded the ship.  We were verbally told that our reservation was for Tuesday evening.  When we arrived on Tuesday evening, we were informed that our reservation had been for Monday evening, and they had no space for us on Tuesday evening.  Disclaimer:  there was a letter placed in our stateroom stating a specific calendar date for our reservation and we should have read it more carefully...we went by what we were verbally told by the salesperson.  While we were not charged for the full price of the Chef's Table, we were assessed a $50 late cancellation fee that we believe should have been waived.

Dirty ship, ended up sick and in the hospital by Texasdogmama

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

I think we must not be Carnival cruisers.  The cruise was nothing short of boring, with the majority of the time spent in the middle of the ocean with nothing to see.  The set up of the casino on the same deck as the shops with smoking open to the entire floor was AWFUL!  The stateroom was marginal, but only ONE outlet in the entire place was a pain.  Thankfully we had elected to get a room with a balcony which made it much better.  The ship appeared to not be clean, and in spite of getting a flu shot, I ended up with the flu that continued into pneumonia.  We will never cruise on Carnival again.

Rough waters by browneyedgirlhv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I liked the 24 hour pizza and our waiter was wonderful. I expected from what i had been told from others who had cruised there would be a time where lobster would be on the menu free of charge and was disappointed it wasn't . We had very rough waters for about a day and the ship was really rocking. I would have liked a wider variety of activities like making crafts or pottery or painting class or something . Maybe an activities room just for women where us women who's husbands are off in the casino or watching the game could get to know other women( I saw allot of women sitting alone on the couches all day), it would be great to have a nice comfy room just designated to us . Also there was never any room in the main pool because it was filled with 20 something's making out and like 15 guys in the pool with bud lights along with all their girlfriends .it was just a leg party type atmosphere out there where the water slide was and where the kids wanted to be and we aren't comfortable in that atmosphere.

Great Cruise to Mexico by djsuvarna

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First time cruiser. Went with my wife and 3 year old son. Fantastic experience. The seas were unusually rough so my wife was a bit sea sick for 2 out of the 5 days but swears she would do the trip again. My son had so much fun at Camp Ocean that he insisted on being dropped off at his party every day.

Cozumel was alright. We did the dolphin swim excursion. It was great but the food was less than ordinary.

I loved Progreso, we did the Dizbilchaltum ruins with cenote and mexican rodeo. Loved every second of this excursion.

Review of Carnival Freedom Cruise by LynnFisk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There were 16 of us, a Thanksgiving family cruise.  Having cruised on ships run by other companies, I boarded with some expectations on how the days would pass.

My assumptions were all wrong.  I can report that I have never stayed in a hotel room previously where all the plumbing, all the lights, all the curtains worked 100% correctly, but our stateroom on the Freedom was without exception, perfect.  And the room was maintained by a perfect gentleman.

The food was great and the entertainment options were first class.  I can rate this cruise as a "10," with no exceptions!

Great family vacation! by amahmood18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Went on a cruise with 10 family members ranging from age 7-60. Everyone had a wonderful time! The rooms were actually bigger than the other carnival boat I'd been on in the past. The massages were well priced and relaxing. The gym had great equipment. We enjoyed the dry sauna and steam room. We watched the Cowboys game in the packed sports bar. While some of the buffets were not of the best quality, we mainly ate breakfast and dinner in the Posh dining room with Dora and her team who were WONDERFUL servers and the food did not disappoint. The Guy's burger spot was also delicious. We did the ATV jungle and beach excursion which was really fun for everyone that did it!

First Time Cruiser by msladydi

I loved the way carnival welcomed us aboard the music was wonderful. Also enjoyed the last night partying in the Atrium with cruise Director Malcolm!  I did purchase the Cheers package but most drinks seemed kind of watered down or weak. I loved Alchemy and of Redfrog bar.  Had fun but was disappointed to find out that everything closes up at night. All dressed up on my birthday and nothing was open late except the casino which I did enjoy😊

I really enjoyed the time during our cruise in Carnival Freedom. The personal was very courteous. The activities were well planned and funny. The food was good. I would like to have other beverages included such beer and an small closed theater to watch movies.

Thanks,
