This was probably my favorite cruise. The ports were well laid out so we didn’t have too many boring sea days. The ports were excellent and I enjoyed every port visit. We went to so many cool places. I’d go again in a heartbeat.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We flew into Houston and stayed in Galveston a couple of days. Love Galveston. Nice people, friendly and small town feel. Don’t go to the overrate Wharf restaurant, but loved dining at Millers. A shuttle from Enterprise took us to the Carnival. Embarkation was easy.

Blue Iguana Cantina

Delicious burritos with a nice bar for toppings. We ate her a few times.

The Millennium Lobby & Atrium

Atrium is nice for drinks and people watching. The brassaholic band were excellent musicians. The trivia during the day is kind of cheesy,
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone goes above and beyond to assist. I wish people were nicer to the staff. They put up with too much verbal harassment but take it all in stride. Extremely hardworking and underpaid workers on the ship.

It’s a treat to have a balcony. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony at sea. Room is spacious.
Ship tip
Treat the waitstaff and room stewards nice. They work very hard and don’t get nearly enough pats on the back. Be patient with fellow ship riders, hold the elevators, try to have patience with the elderly.
This probably is an excellent port but I didn’t get to experience the city. We went on a shipboard tour that was a party boat. We did have a great time and met some nice people, the tour itself was a drunk fest on the boat. I’d prefer a bit more cultural sightseeing but that is my fault for picking the wrong excursion.
Did an an inclusive to El CID hotel which was within walking distance to fish. Got a fish pedicure and drank White Russians. The city is a lot of fun. I wish we had more time there.
We did a tour to the rainforest, on a boat, and banana farm. Saw sloths, and various birds. Unfortunately it was raining hard all day so we missed the rainforest excursion. I enjoyed seeing the sloths.
Port was a little disappointing. I probably chose the wrong tour. We were on a hop on hop off bus and the tour was quite disorganized. It was boiling hot but Ali was happy to see Gabriel Garcia Marquez house via the bus. We enjoyed the area outside the ship and saw a plethora of wild animals. I hope to get back. Love their coffee.
Went on an all inclusive resort tour which was lovely and relaxing. The resort was beautiful and I saw so many exotic iguanas. I hope to go back again one day.
Normally disembarkation is easy, but this particular cruise was a cluster. The debarkation had no room to wait and once you debarked the ship it took at least another hour to get through customs.
We will be on this cruise in January, except we'll go to Mahogany Bay instead of Cartagena. I was disappointed that we won't go there. That's one reason why we booked the cruise, besides the Canal. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the trip. We are counting down and can't wait!
