A: update!!! grand turk is reopening this week starting with the mardi gras! I'm assuming the freedom will also be able to dock there

A: not likely. as far as I know, they are still repairing the pier. we were suppose to go there a week or so ago on our cruise

Q: Do you guys know if vaccinations ARE REQUIRED in order to get off at the ports of call? We are anticipation the Carnival Freedom Cruise in February.

A: Just cruised on the Carnival Freedom 1/7. We were asked if we were vaccinated but our cards were never requested.

A: As of today, officially yes for Grand Turk. you should check closer to your cruise on the Carnival site though. at the top will be their Have Fun Be Safe Protocols and further down will be Unvaccinated Testing and Destination Restrictions. unoffic... ially I don't think they are stopping anyone at the port. A: Its not required but I highly recommend a passport book, not a passport card or just a birth certificate. Although its unlikely I would miss the ship, inforunate things do happen,,,injury,illness,who knows. It would be much less of a hassle to get a... flight if u already have a passport book. Otherwise, a trip to the nearest U.S. embassy and possibly an extended delay as.the costs.pile up.See More

A: You can use a certified birth certificate and a state ID if you are US CITIZEN if you don’t want a passport you can get a passport card which is good on cruises and I believe land crossings in Mexico and Canada 🇨🇦 I think it’s around $55.00

A: I would never travel internationally without a passport. As stated, if the unforeseen ever occurs, it would very difficult to fly back to the States. Spend the money and consider it travel insurance.

Q: Does the vaccination card you get from the pharmacy count for boarding the ship or do I need to get a different one?

A: I downloaded the VeriFLY app and it had me take a pic of our cards, which worked. I plan on taking them just in case, but probably won't need them.

A: Don’t forget all the energy drinks, specialty coffee, Gatorade bottles included and are unlimited - with drink package. Great for the fridge and out on port days or rehydrating at 3am lol

A: I think so even if you don’t drink the value dollar for dollar. I like knowing there’s no surprise bill at the end and I love being able to try any drink I want without worrying I’ve wasted money if I don’t like it. I can just set it aside and try... something else.See More

Q: Has anyone done the Rapid NAAT test and carnival accept it? No one around us has the Rapid antigen test anymore. We done it through CVS for our January cruise but no luck this time. I know the website says they accept the regular NAAT test but was unsure about the rapid.

A: As long as it meets the criteria spelled out on their website, it will be accepted. The site currently states a rapid pcr is acceptable which is a rapid NAAT.

Q: Do balcony rooms have any type of cover outside? Or, is the balcony out in the sun? Port side, by the rear elevators. Thanks

A: Balconies have balconies up down and left and right. It’s like a covered patio. The sun shines onto it depending on what time it is and in which direction the ship is traveling.
