Review summary

Very pretty ship. Excursions were very good. I probably will stay away from the 5 day cruises in the future based off what I saw. I wish the Terrazza section had a pool. That was my fault for thinking the Havana and Terrazza were the same. Andrea in the shops was wonderful. She helped us with our purchases and really very personable. Aldi and Erica were great in the specialty dining rooms. I have been cruising for the past 25 years and felt like you didn't get great service in the dining room unless you paid for a specialty dinner. That was a huge disappointment. Never asked if we wanted anything else to drink unless it was something from the bar. Menus should show the drinks that are available at no charge. I felt with the updated technology used on the boat, that although some parts are great, it really takes away from the personal interaction. The checking in for dinner was always chaotic. the app seemed to cause more confusion and people still waited in the halls. Good experience but missed the personal interaction with staff. With automatic tipping, you can tell folks don't go out of their way to provide great service. I may just end up trying a new cruise line. I have been cruising with Carnival for the past 15 years and I think it is time to try something different.

Embarkation

Easy and fast. Wished we could have at least dropped off backpacks with the FTTF pass, but no one was allowed in the rooms until 1:30.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room service was just OK. The staff was not engaging and waited a long time to get food and service. Disappointed that lobster was not available in the main dining room except if you are willing to pay a surcharge. This must be new and I just didn't know about it.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Activities were good.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I have been on many carnival cruises and the performers were really bad. As far as the dancers and singers. Other entertainment was good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward only came by once. He was nice but not attentive. There were 3 of us in our room and showered twice a day, but he still only left 3 towels. I had to end up asking for more. Didn't explain about the perks of the room until I asked. No hammock in the Terraza room. That was one of the selling points for me for this room category. Nothing mentioned until I asked. Aldi and Erica from the Steakhouse and Terrazza Lounge were great! Engaging, kind, and attentive.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was clean but the guests did not respect the boat and this was very disappointing. I found areas dirty but that is because people would just drop food, ice cream, drinks and just leave it.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Room and patio was very nice. Didn't get the hammock which was something I was looking forward to. After inquiring was told that someone previously hurt themselves, so they are no longer being used. That should have been shared or something left in the room to explain. I did ask the front desk and they told me to ask the cabin steward. If they were not being used, then I would have thought the front desk would have been informed.

Ship tip

Being in the Terrazza section, you have access to a continental breakfast in the Modo lounge. This is a very nice perk. No crowds.
