Review summary

We had a great time for our first Carnival cruise. I would say directions and communications could be a little more clear, ie: Deck to disembark for ports, return, etc.. All in all it is the wonderful staff that always makes a cruise the best travel.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Buffet always had items we liked, Main dining was awesome and the pizza was excellent.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Didn’t really do onboard activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The show was ok, our favorite was the Firenze band. They were absolutely fabulous. Went back to see them anytime they were on stage.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was Endang, he did a great job, cabin was always clean and plenty of fresh towels. Our main dining room waiters were top notch. (Yoga, Joshua and Pema were the best). Would travel again just to see them.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean and well maintained. The design is classy. I did find the layout challenging. I only have Royal Caribbean navigator to compare it to, but having 3 elevators that go to different locations was a challenge. It just seemed disjointed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size of the cabin was great. Loved having the balcony. The bathroom was a good size too. Loved that it had lots of closet space. The bed was a little hard, but slept well. This was the most I have felt a ship move but it did not affect our trip.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

We live here.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Did not visit port

Wanted to enjoy the ship while it was less crowded.

Ensenada, Mexico

We took a bus trip not booked thru the ship. It was an adventure.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was confusing. Clearer instructions could be given on deck to stage.
