Definitely sign up for a couple of excursions, but give yourself time to relax at the beach. Two favorites: in Costa Maya we sped through the tourist area and took a shuttle to the fishing village. We ate at Kabara (I think that’s the name). Included with our meal was lounge chairs and beach access. Food and beverages for a hungry and thirsty family of five came out to around $100. Also, we took a taxi in Cozumel to paradise beach. Beach, pool, and chair was $3 per person plus min. $10 in food purchase per person. Totally worth it.

Ship is a little dated, cruised on it when new, buffet food has improved, pig and anchor is worst BBQ ever.

Unfortunately the one area I was extremely disappointed in was the spa. I was able to attend a pamper party where I was talked into getting teeth whitening and a massage. Both of those services were great however I was very disappointed that Cynthia who did my massage was extremely pushy and getting me to purchase things at the end. After an hour of a relaxing massage I left feeling very frustrated and tents! After spending $115 on a massage I should not be pressured into buying a 62 bottle of something for arthritis. I do not think I would recommend any tree for people going on this cruise. Everything else was great. this was a family cruise

Decor is dated, but it's a great ship! If the pools are too full for your liking- go to the SPA!!! Thermal tubs and steam rooms are amazing.

You will want to identify where the smoking areas are (if you aren't a smoker) and plan around them. The casino on the fifth level is very smoky and is a major throughway on that level. Level 11 above Lido and some other areas as well. It will overwhelm you. Also, do the excursions. They are well worth it!

Take advantage of the drink packages. Take advantage of the dining halls and the food that is included. Tip your bartenders, servers, and stewards in addition to the general gratuity charges.
