Great Getaway with Friends by pattio22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

A large group of friends traveled together with adjoining balconies. Best moments were shared together there! So much to do that everyone was happy and could find something to suit their taste. Food was great. Loved the addition of Guy's Burgers!

Amazing time but..... by melissadonaldso

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had so much fun on and off the ship however communication with some of the staff was difficult at best. Only one time in our seven day cruise was our room service order correct and twice we couldn't even get them to answer the phone at all. Dining room service was so bad the first two times we went that it took 2 hours for us to complete our meal. That doesn't include wait time for seating. We felt that we couldn't enjoy our dinner because of the frustration of even getting it served to us so we chose the casual buffet for all of our other meals. Our steward I Made was great and provided us the best service of anyone else on the ship. The ships entertainment and activities were awesome.

Loved this Cruise. Can't wait until our next one! by lindapart

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I loved the Grand Cayman Island port.  We went to the Royal Palms Resort and spent the day on the beach and by the swim-up-bar at the pool.  This port was one of my favorites so far.  The waters and beach were so beautiful.  Also, returned to Cozumel Mexico and hung out at Poncho's restaurant there at port and enjoyed the amazing food and hospitality.  This is testament that you do not necessarily have to spend a lot of money on excursions to have a relaxing and great time at port.  The Carnival Dream ship was very nice and although it was larger than the one we went on last year, the Carnival Triumph, it was laid out similar and was easy to find your way around.  The food was, of course, amazing and the staff were also amazing.  Can't wait for our 2018 cruise!!!

Fun in the sun with Family!! by isons23423

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Best part of the cruise was the Cruise Director, the Flying Scott'sman.  He was very engaging and ensure that everyone was included in the activities and quickly stepped in and become very transparent when we experienced some technical difficulties, he kept the room engaged until they got it resolved.  I love the staff especially my cabin staff Tina, She was awesome!!Big Smile

First cruise and I will go again by cldawson124

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was always something going on, from BINGO, to shows, to karaoke, to just relaxing by the two pools. I would suggest trying as many of the free restaurants that you can and try different foods. If you don't like something, just ask for something else.

Since this was my very first cruise, I did a lot of research on what to pack before I went. I ended up packing too many clothes. However, I did buy towel clips and a mesh shoe rack to hang on the back of the door. It was great since I didn't have a lot of extra space.

Good cruise by dougtammiemuse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We left out of New Orleans on 4-30-17.Checking in was easy and we were boarded in 45 minutes. Our cabin was 1361 and it was fine. The only thing that happened was a cabinet door came off  and it was fixed. Our cabin was cleaned twice a day with no problem. The food was very good and at night service was excellent in the formal dining room.Do not miss eating in the formal dining room! The excursion in Jamaica was great. We went to Dunns River Falls. It was the best time we had.If you go to it be prepared to climb, but it is worth it.Grand Cayman we snorkeled and it was ok.Cozumel our excursion was cancelled due to weather. We found a little private restaurant/bar.This place had a private beach and it was fabulous. We had a very good time overall. The dining room waiters were great and the weather was good!

Best cruise I've ever been on! by nowitzk41

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I've cruised a few times before and I've always enjoyed it, but this was the best cruise by far. The ports were beautiful especially Grand Cayman, but what really made this cruise special was the cruise director Chris the flying Scotsman and his team. They made every day an event and really seemed to be enjoying the cruise which spills over to the passengers increasing everyone's fun. The food was fantastic especially Guy Fieris pig and anchor that was some terrific barbecue. I would highly recommend anyone who is considering going on a cruise go on the carnival dream, you won't regret it.

Cruise Review by rinehart574

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I enjoyed the cruise as a whole.  This was my first cruise experience and I believe that the initial boarding process was confusing as was the last day getting off the ship. The biggest issue I had was with drinks. I purchased a Endless Bubbles card and found out that we were limited on the number of soft drinks we could purchase not to mention that if you wanted a soft drink after 11:00 pm the bars were closed.

The crew was great, the ship was clean, and the food was great. I  would recommend to others.

I have no previous cruises to compare this to, but my husband and I had a wonderful time. We enjoyed the ports/excursions, and loved the laid back atmosphere of the cruise. We had nothing we would want to complain about.

Not our best vacation by patriciaselle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship is in need of some serious overhaul.  Ship had problems with water leaking into corridors and rooms during rainstorm.  Service was poor in many areas and had to stand at service desk many times to deal with overcharges on our accounts.  We had booked this cruise to celebrate a family members birthday.  There were 11 family members on board.  Every cabin had difficulty with our finances.  The wi-fi phone package never worked for anyone.   The cabins had air circulation problems. Lights were burned out on arrival in the suite and still out on departure. Several of our group had difficulty with rooms not being serviced on a daily basis. The dining room had difficulty seating our group on multiple nights even though this was prearranged prior to departure.  Water excursions had to be cancelled in Cozumel due to windy conditions.  Our excursion to the ruins was nice and had a very informed tour guide.  Our bus had a leaky air conditioner that dripped down my arm every few minutes.  Our food stop was awful.  We were charged $12.00 for a SMALL plate of soggy nachos that were supposed to be chicken nachos.  NO CHICKEN what so ever.  We had to chase down the waiter for the bottle of water that was purchased at the time our bus left.  We did have a great snorkel adventure in Grand Caymans.  The adventure was everything that was advertised.  We went to Hard Rock for beach time in Montego Bay, jamaica.  We could have easily walked there.  We got on a bus that was supposed to be free.  The driver informed us that we had to pay $5.00 per person once we were underway.  Every spa service for our group was double charged to our accounts.  Spent a lot of time at service desk trying to straighten this out. Not our best vacation and left us wondering if we want to travel with this cruise line again.

Wonderful Cruise by cdpeacock1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was awesome. There was always something to do and the staff was very friendly and used your name as much as possible. Dinner service was a little slow at times so be prepared to sit down for dinner for at least 1-2 hrs. I also recommend doing shore excursions through Carnival. Yes they're more expensive but if transportation is running late the boat will not depart without you.

CD did a great job... by TXOutlw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have not seen a CD that was more in his element.  He used to be in the cast as singer and dancer and now as the CD he has his own show one night for almost an hour, singing and entertaining.  He then has great lobby parties after the late show each night.

The Cast for the shows did an awesome job as well.  Great shows and I enjoy interacting with the cast, some of which I knew from previous cruises.

I will be on this same boat and cruise in September.  I am looking forward to it.

Cloud 9 Spa by slc6583

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

They need to update and make sure their ThermoSpa rooms are working, very disappointed.  And yes we did tell them about the rooms that were not working properly and they did not get fixed.  One day the whirlpool spa was down also.  Not worth the money spent.

The FUN Ship, Carnival Dream by meddyk9175266

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If I had never been on any other cruise line, I would have given this a 5-star rating. But, I can say that for the money spent, the cruise was an excellent value. The star attraction was, by far, the cruise director, "The Flying Scotsman".—A rare combination of cruise director and actor, singer, comedian, dancer, and people pleaser. The ports were good for snorkeling, which was my preference. The crew were all friendly & helpful. The food was good—not the best I've ever had, but presented well, plentiful, and good enough. The highlights were the shows and happy atmosphere on the ship with lots to do if you were interested and lots of places to relax if you were not. We went with a group, which amped up the night life fun for us. But, in the end, the value for what you spend and what you get was very good.

A GREAT CARNIVAL CRUISE by rickysnellgrove

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 4th cruise on the Carnival Dream. WOW!  It was the best. The Flying Scottsman  our cruise director was GREAT! He never slept and was totally engaged throughout the cruise. A very rare talent as we have cruised over 15 times on many cruise lines and he was the BEST! Great find Carnival! The ship and the crew was better overall than our past trips and by far our best Carnival cruise overall. We took our Daughter and 5 year old granddaughter and they loved it as well. New Orleans is a great port and city to Cruise from so come early and enjoy the City!

Very poor experience by jserpas86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Very pissed off about this experience. Will NEVER cruise with Carnival or book anything with IHG again. It was pure hell from the time of booking until the time we got off of the ship. As a result of my experience, I have resigned from my corporate position position with IHG, and I will neither support Carnival cruise line or IHG.

Great staff, facilities, food, but NOISY! by buckml67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We liked a lot about the ship and the service.  We had a great cabin steward, a great waiter (who we chose every night), the bars had very cheerful and fun bartenders, the food in the dining room was very good and in the Steakhouse wonderful!  The thermal pool in the spa was fantastic.  Our only problem was that the guests could not talk at a normal level - everyone seemed to be shouting at each other.  And the music was EVERWHERE.  we found relief in our cabin and on the excursions, which were great.  We had a headache every night before we went to bed.  We wish there were a few more quiet places on the ship.
