Review summary

If I had never been on any other cruise line, I would have given this a 5-star rating. But, I can say that for the money spent, the cruise was an excellent value. The star attraction was, by far, the cruise director, "The Flying Scotsman".—A rare combination of cruise director and actor, singer, comedian, dancer, and people pleaser. The ports were good for snorkeling, which was my preference. The crew were all friendly & helpful. The food was good—not the best I've ever had, but presented well, plentiful, and good enough. The highlights were the shows and happy atmosphere on the ship with lots to do if you were interested and lots of places to relax if you were not. We went with a group, which amped up the night life fun for us. But, in the end, the value for what you spend and what you get was very good.

Roomy, a little dated, with an orange color scheme. Great balcony. Bathroom was large enough. Lots of storage places and closets. Our room was one floor below the buffet restaurant & pool deck, which was great for getting coffee in the mornings, etc. No noise problems. Also, right near the elevators & stairs, which was very convenient.

Ship tip

Cheeseburger joint, Tandoor, pasta bar & Cantina are all great for lunches and snacks. Nightly movies at the pool deck are good. But, if you like to dance and party and love music shows, get on the ship with The Flying Scotsman. He will definitely entertain you.

Beautiful place, but beware of everyone wanting to sell you the moon. Doctors Cave Beach was nice to snorkel and hang out on the beach if you don't want to take an excursion. You can get a cab right outside the ship terminal.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Snorkel or dive if you have the chance.

Cozumel, Mexico

Chankanaab Park is great. Take your own taxi & buy a ticket there to save a few dollars.

Chris "The Flying Scottsman" is an awesome cruise director. Always the life of the party. One of the highlights of our cruise on the Dream.

Going in a few weeks. If you don't mind saying, where did you snorkel? Excursions or on your own? Thanks.

We decided to take a different ship and I'm starting regret it (jokingly). you are at least the 20th person to give an outstanding review of The Flying Scotsman.
