Carnival Dream

Sail date: April 23, 2017

Ship: Carnival Dream

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 9461

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

Cabin doors are too narrow. My walker would not fit through the door even when folded. We had to take the backrest off for use on the ship. I have been on several cruise lines and never had this experience.

With today's technological devices that need to be charged, only one outlet per cabin is inadequate. There isn't even one in the bathroom for a nightlight.

Rarely did anyone offer to help me when I went to eat on Lido, or get my drink when I sat down.

Not enough hangars in closet.

On last night we had to call security 4 times on the cabin next to us. Why was that man not taken away for disturbing the peace and destruction of property? We only got two hours of sleep.

I did not see one live flower aboard at anytime on the entire cruise.

Did not see a smoke free night in casino; Did I miss it?

Food was good and plentiful.

Seems as if you booked a cruise to get some sleep. Don't know too many people who have done that. Now far as your room door, again when you booked you should have mentioned that you are special need and I'm sure assistance would have been offered. Then again all you needed to do was asked, but I think your pride or age got in the way. The cruise ship is called Carnival for a reason, but your neighbors seemed to party enough for the both of you. Next time book an all-inclusive resort and get all the sleep you want or need. I in my late 50's and probably got 3 hours of sleep last month on the Dream and loved every minute of my cruise.

I take the battery operated tea lights for bathroom night lights... One lasted us the 7 day cruise

There's a hidden outlet in the bathroom where the lights are over the mirror

I'm still trying to give up an ADA room to someone who wants or needs it. The doors are wider, more floor space and much bigger bathroom. No takers yet. Next time when you book, tell them you need an ADA room. And you can bring an multi outlet plug in with you as long as it's not surge protected.

The room steward will provide extra hangers. You can take a multi outlet on board, but not one with a surge protector. The Lido is a buffet. If you need help, go to the dining room. Sometimes they'll help, but usually not. It must not be a garden ship. Go on the Allure or Oasis for a beautiful Central Park. The only smoke free casino I've seen is on the MSC Divina. It stays fairly empty. It seems casinos and smokers kind of attract each other. I usually pack a motion activated night light. I got it in the grocery store. Really. Sounds like you had a doozy of a neighbor. Also, next time, book an accessible room. The doors are wider.

Were you by yourself?

There are no smoke free nights in the casino. Next time bring a powerstrip. You can order flowers for your room pre cruise if they are that important to you. Try another line?
