Review summary

Very pissed off about this experience. Will NEVER cruise with Carnival or book anything with IHG again. It was pure hell from the time of booking until the time we got off of the ship. As a result of my experience, I have resigned from my corporate position position with IHG, and I will neither support Carnival cruise line or IHG.

Ship tip

Invest in staff that speak more English. It was frustrating enough to deal with all of the issues we had, and then to have to deal with people who could barely communicate was a disgrace.

A few specifics would help.

We have cruised carnival 4 times now and scheduled 2 for this year once in Conquest and 4 on dream 1 on fantasy. Your vacation is what you make it. I am also an IHG member and use it all the time for hotel reservations but never a cruise purchase. We love Carnival and have never had bad experiences with either of them. Carnival or IHG.

Don't know what ihg did to y'all but I always book everything personally and have never had a problem. Love the dream and be back on it for fourth time in October.

Why was your cruise horrible? Now I'll never know why I should avoid Carnival and IHG. :( I guess I'll have to continue taking Carnival cruises because I must be missing something.

Absolutely a troll with a meaningless review.

pacrat    7 years ago

probably just another troll. trying to run down everyone's view of Carnival and the dream

gwyatt, list your cruises on your profile if you get a chance

jallaway!!!!! I am with you and I will resign my position as advisor to the President of somewhere because my staff should have warned me about this ship and IHG!!!!!!!

JusMe    7 years ago

Please tell us WHY it was bad...... your review is not creditable with nothing to back up why it was bad.  If you can support why it was "hell" you could help inform others thinking of taking this ship.

Enjoyed my time on Carnival Inspiration in January so much that I booked another trip on her for May. Carnival has been fine so far for me.

We enjoyed the Dream. Have another cruise booked on that ship with same itinerary. Never use a 3rd party booking agent for Carnival, not worth the what it's and wondering if it's Carnival backed. You never said what made your trip so horrible bad. I have been on 6 carnival cruises in the past 16 months and fail to see what would make it so terrible. please enlighten us and tell us what went so wrong.

exactly to each it's own sorry your experience was horrible but Vacation is what you MAKE IT

The way this review is worded, it sounds more like a third party booking problem. Why blame Carnival or the ship?

jallaway    7 years ago

I see that IHG has a cruise booking engine (like Costco or Priceline). We seasoned and crispy-fried travelers know there's coordination issues when you use a 3rd party; but one star? really?

I google ihg, it stands for intercontinental hotel group, I think. it's based in the UK and recently had difficulties due to credit card information being used by scammers stolen from the IHG.

I personally had a fantastic time on the Dream last spring. Nobody ruins my vacations!!

Murrah86    7 years ago

so we quit jobs over bad vacations how will I ever afford my next cruise. this is ludicrous. LIVE TO CRUISE!!!!!

As a show of support, I too am going to resign from my position on the IHG Board of Directors and my position as U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas.

bettyboop22351    7 years ago

ihg is a hotel chain isnt it?

hollyamanda76    7 years ago

what made the trip pure hell? please explain. I, too, had a terrible experience on the Dream but I am trying carnival again this summer but on a different ship. My poor experience was due to other rude and hostile passengers and had nothing to do with carnival.

vicrfinl25    7 years ago

There's this thing called carnival.com... why on earth are you using a different site? They have deals all the time, there's no need for a membership deal. Not to mention, you must work for the intercontinental division not the holiday inn side if you expected a 5star resort.

what's IHG

martyarmi    7 years ago

This means nothing, as you have not explained what happened. Many very good reviews of this ship exist. As some may not know what IHG means, please explain. Thanks
