I really enjoyed the cruise. I was very dissatisfied with the ocean suite. Wasn't worth the money we paid. Very overrated and expensive

Wonderful Caribbean Cruise, but ship needs to be sanitized by rseagle

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There were lots of things going on the ship. There was something for everyone. We had a wonderful time on the cruise. However, we were not happy to all be back home with the flu.

First and Last Time Western Caribbean Cruise by tammyduong73

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I've done several cruises to the Eastern Caribbean and this was my first time on the Western side. For the most part, I was very disappointed in this side of the Caribbean. The beaches were non-existent. The only "real" beach that we saw was at Cozumel. The Mahahual Beach in Costa Maya was the saddest thing I've seen. It was a netted walled off section of beach. Not a sandy beach. There were seaweed that came through making the water turn yellow so it looks like urine. I enjoyed Roatan. The sloth habitat was fantastic. The snorkeling was great. I did cave tubing and zip lining in Belize City. It was okay. In Cozumel, I spent the day at Paradise Beach. Took a taxi. Paid $3 for entrance fee with the promise of spending $10 pp in food/drink. It was very relaxing.

Overall a very good trip by dankar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Entertainment was really very good with the exception of Flick, TV programing and reception is very lacking, Great improvement in food taste, but presentation still needs work.Guy's burgers are the best ever. Pig and anchor was only open on sea days ,which was 2 days to many. Priority Debarkation is a joke, My only real complaint. Carnival needs to up the perks for Suite guest to be competitive.

wondrous and relaxing by abellou

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have been on several carnival cruises and this one had the best service of ANY cruises and cruise lines I have been on. GREAT JOB DREAM!!! I just wish you had more destinations out of NOLA! All I typically see is Cozumel and the one I took to 3 destinations. Additionally, I did not know we were above the caliente club and the base was annoying. Next time I will be more aware. I will be back soon. Thanks Carnival!

Your post-cruise customer service continues to negate the fabulous cruise by nicholemmathis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Before I tell you that the cruise was great, I cannot get anyone to answer the phone to resolve my significant billing discrepancy. My Sail and Sign account is accurate. However, none of the $1,316.14 that you’ve ALREADY TAKEN FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT has any justification. And no one will answer the phone. Carnival’s limited input is that they’re holds places by my bank but my bank has confirmed they have no holds on my account. Carnival has taken out more than double what they are due. In the meantime, I’m a single mom who is now overdrawn on my bank account and I can’t buy food to feed my children. Thanks for completely negating my amazing cruise experience.

On the Dream at Sea by jflynn1954

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

if you book the horseback riding in Roatan, be aware it is not as described. A guide led us on the supposed horseback ride all the way around their area. I thought we would be in command of the horse because the write up mentions galloping the horse on the beach - well NO! The guide was very nice but we walked the entire time with him holding the lead. He was walking, not on horseback either. I would not do this activity again

Very enjoyable cruise. Very pleased with the cruise director, room steward Dinio, wait staff in the evening, Ingrid, Jerson and Gustiv. Disappointed with the photograph department and staff. Staff was not helpful and most of them were rude. It was very hard to find as keep up with photos.

NEVER AGAIN by jshack67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my 5th cruise. My 3rd with Carnival and it was absolutely horrible. It has been 4 years since my last cruise and this experience has left me with never wanting to take my vacation on a cruise. Embarkation has significantly improved and moved very quick. We boarded the ship about 12:20 and were not able to get to our rooms until 1:30, which meant we had to pack the luggage we did not give the porters. My overall experience would be a 1 or a zero. The food was absolutely horrible. It was like getting days old Golden Coral Food or worse. I had to buy bottled water, as the water on the ship had a nasty after taste. The tea was gross and the lemonade too sweet. The decent restaurants were only opened from 12:00 to 2:30. Guys Burgers was open from 12:00 to 6:00. After eating burgers a few times it does get old. If you like the disgusting pizza it was open 24 hours. If you are hungry after 10:00 p.m. be prepared to pay for food. We did eat at the Chef's table which is extra. If you want burned crab cake that was not only burned but frozen burned this is the place to go. I have eaten at many fine steak houses, and again this was a disappointment to me. On-board activities are expensive and a money pit. My husband and I booked to have a massage which was amazing except the ladies pressure you to buy all these products, and try to tell me it would help my bags under my eyes, nose, etc. when I know I need to have a sinus surgery to alleviate allergy issues. It was like I had to tell them "what do you not understand about the word NO". Entertainment was great the first two nights, but it is basically the same throughout the entire cruise. It gets boring after watching basically the same thing. The comedy entertainment was degrading to women. I can not believe Carnival Dream has a woman comedian that can joke about women in such a degrading, pornographic manner. Half the people left during her skit. The comedy shows are only 30 minutes and you have to get their so early in order to have a seat. Nevertheless, after we attended that comedy show, my husband and I did not go back. Again, it was outright disgusting. The cleanliness of the ship was not there. Room service has been cut to once a day. We had to rip off the sheets from the bed after the 3rd night in order to get clean sheets. I know some of you might not wash your sheets, but I am the kind of person that washes mine frequently. It is especially necessary after you spend all cabin time laying around on bed. Our entire floor smelled like DODO... POO POO no lie, straight up sewer, and then walk into a balcony cabin that is no less than 78 degrees. I don't know about you, but I keep my temperature at 72, needless to say I could not sleep because it was so stinking hot. There were blue soap debris left all over the shower from previous passenger and our bed had a definite swag in the center. Food plates were never removed, if you want them out of your cabin you have to set the dishes outside the door. The ship design is not vacation friendly. The elevators do not take you to necessary areas. You have to walk all over the place to get to the place you want. There were so many people that average wait time for elevator was 7 to 10 min. Who wants to spend all their time waiting for an elevator. Montego Bay was fun. The Dolphin excursion was amazing, but we spent over an hour waiting for the excursion when we got to ship terminal. It was well worth it, but again when on vacation who wants to spend their time in a long hot line. When we got to the beach, we were harassed not less than 10 times if we wanted to buy mojo. In Georgetown we took the submarine excursion. It was over priced for the fact that you basically just go in circles around the same reef. The costs for that should be no more than $50 but of course that is not the case. In Cozumel we took the excursion to the Mayan Ruins. Absolutely loved the ruins but we were only given an hour and a half once the tour was complete. (Tour consisted of waiting for everyone to go to the bathroom, walking one mile to the ruins, and a 15 min. quick breakdown of the ruins) There is a 45 min ferry ride and another 45 min. bus ride one way. The majority of the time is spent traveling so we did not get to enjoy and explore for being rushed. Disembarkation was as quick as embarkation. Funny how getting on and off the ship was quick. Like I stated this was my 5th cruise and likely my last! I definitely will never cruise Carnival and this was my third with them. Pity to have spent my hard earned vacation money on this trip.

Overall we had a really good time. It was my first time on a cruise and I learned a lot about how to do things differently next time. There’s a ton of things to do on the ship and at the ports. Most of the food was really good and the staff was awesome.

The overall experience was amazing. Wonderful ship and magnificent crew. Everything was five stars except one excursion. But Carnival made it right and we left happy happy happy. We will definitely look to cruise the Dream when it moves to Galveston.

The Carnival Dream is a beautiful ship and was very enjoyable. We did not care for the ports of call, Key West, Freeport and Nassau. They were very short stops and very dirty. by ranbrohdroadkin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was gorgeous and the staff was excellent. Liked being on the ship more than the ports of call visited. There were too many UNSUPERVISED children running around and a great deal of freeloaders on board. Ran into some great people from different parts of the US. The stops were short and unimpressive. Will not choose these destinations again.

This is the worst cruise I have been on and I have been on a total of 4 cruises with carnival. by vegas007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We found bed bugs in our cabin but luckily we travel with spray. Our steward didn’t clean our room for three days. We had to literally call and ask for towels and when we did see him we asked when was our cleaning time on 2 different occasions. No more New Orleans only Florida.
