Review summary

We chose this cruise because we did it last year and loved it. This year we soon found they were economizing. We were asked to choose morning or evening room service..the stewards were taking care of 40 rooms instead of 20 we were told. Also, we checked a list of things we wanted..robe for instance. Things we thought were automatic. Another thing, we were told the dining room service will be changing.

Really enjoyed the dining room in the evening. For lunch the pasta bar, Mongolian Wok were very good.

We have been on 5 cruises and enjoyed everyone. Lots of fun, lots to do for everybody. Our kids absolutely love cruising. Was every cruise perfect? No but then again nothing is. We still had an excellent time. We currently have 4 upcoming cruises within the next year and are looking forward to very one. Reckerle 1947 sounds like nothing is good enough, by the way what colour is your card???

I personally am ok with reckerle 1947 going to another cruise line...means he WON'T be on a ship with me ruining my good time with his bad VIP attitude!

What is a VIP? Everybody with one Carnival cruise is a VIFP. Everyone with 75 cruise days is a Platinum. Everyone with 200 cruise days is Diamond. 😀

Gelimore - I spoke to my travel agent and even she said that Carnival is going down hill - they are economizing and good service doesn't cost more money & I am very nice to the staff! Are you sure that you aren't that Jake person? I am a professional and if my staff got these low ratings I would put them on probation and review their training

Reckerie1947 VIP Indeed!! You can be a VIP just for staying in a suite. I am Platinum , almost Diamond and find something I don't particularly like on almost every cruise. NO BIGGIE!!! If you treat the staff with respect they will bend over backwards for you. With your attitude it is no wonder you don 't get treated as well. BE NICE AND YOU WILL GET NICE.. You got what you dished out.

First, what is the big deal with buying your own seasick pills? You put it in your van you need them you use them. yes I remember when they were free but I have always brought my own. very childish. 2nd, I was getting sick the last night of our cruise. we went to the MD and ordered. my throat was sore and i couldn't swallow the Mai course, there were 3 staff including the matrix D coming over 4 or 5 times asking get if if wanted something get else or was something wrong. I have been on over 30 cruises and not once has something not been fixed if it was wrong. you obviously have mouth, I wasn't there but if you treated them the way you spoke here I can understand.

I paid good money for poor service - I have spoken to several people & they say Carnival is going down hill & with the cheap prices of fuel - they are making a lot more money!

mikedebb you don't know what you are talking about - I am a VIP member and I would rather pay more money for good service than pay good money for per service - you get what you pay for & I paid for awful food & awful service!

reckerle, they may be making a few cutbacks, nothing major, but if it keeps the cruise rate from increasing, who cares. Buy your own pills for a couple bucks or pay several hundred more for a different cruiseline. I bet you can find something you don't like on each one.

I agree Carnival is cutting back a lot - I got seasick & the pills you could get for free - they are now charging ! Also the last meal was awful! I am a VIP member & won't go back on another cruse with Carnival!

American Table is the latest menu being slowly rolled out on Carnival's ships. Some people like it. Others don't. We prefer the old menus with more choices. 😎

howardamy is correct. The choices are yours to make. You just have to let your cabin steward know. As for the dining service changing, they may be planning on converting to the American Table menu. This change has already taken place on many of the Carnival ships.

I personally asked John Heald about this and he said you have a choice of morning, evening or both for clean ups. He also said you have a choice of what you want like robes, ice ect. they aren't putting everything in each room anymore because many things are unused and as far as cleaning service you get to choose because many times the snoozing card is left out and people don't want service. So you still have all the previous options you just have to check the card and if for some reason one isn't left ask for it.
