Review summary
We are VIP's for a start with over thirty five cruises. To start with, no more steel band on Lido at anytime just a hip hop DJ. The bathroom no longer has the little extras in toiletries, just a sample of toothpaste. This ship is only four to five years old and already shows signs of wear, our balcony had rust all over. The dining room was a big joke. The first night we were shown to our table which already had eight people queezed around it. We were in that room for over two hours, the service was terrible. The next night was even worse, the tight fit was even tighter as two more people had joined. This time everyone except us ordered four or more starters and entrees, this meant we had to wait for everyone to finish before we got served, another two hours! We decided to use the Buffett in future...in and out and same food except no lobster. The second Captain's night we decided to go to the dining room again as we were formally dressed. Again, we squeezed around the table and horrors, everyone ordered all the starters and entrees for each one. An hour later we left the table without eating and went again to the Buffett to eat. This we did for the rest of the seven day cruise, better staff as well. The next problem we had, oh joy, someone tried using my iPad and crashed it. This was charging in the cabin at the time. Fortunately or unfortunately, I had just downloaded iOS 7 which has a four digit password. I managed to reboot it after thirty or more frustrating minutes as at the time, nothing worked it was frozen. Off course no one owned up when we talked to the Steward. The shows were so so, seen better but at least they had changed at last, RCI has the best. The drink prices are ridiculous and I refuse to buy on ship. Then departure, supposed to meet with other Platinum at a lounge on third deck, was told to go elsewhere and wait. While waiting there we saw a long line going out, we should have been in that line so we again had to wait. Off course after going through Customs etc. and outside the terminal doors, you have to walk forever with your luggage as they no longer have shuttles to your vehicle. Some kind of thank you to your passengers. Carnival has gone downhill rapidly over the last few years and the only reason we are still with them is the price...we will still use them for a while but may change later.Ship experiences
